NOT RECOMMENDED
Hifumi
2012-11-13
Maybe because it was newly opened but the staff were all extremely inefficient. There were so many empty and uncleared seats and the queue was 15 tables long! So frustrating to see that happening!Where we were queuing, there was a glass panel where we could look in and see the chefs preparing the food. I really don't know why they do that unless they are as clean and efficient as Ding Tai Feng. Seriously, after staring at them preparing the food I wasn't really impressed and decided not to look anymore in case I lose my appetite.I saw how the frying was done so I avoided ordering all the fried stuff. The lady used her gloved hands to clean the sink and then just put her hand under running water for like 1 sec before going back to preparing food. Omg.Bara Chirashi (Mixed Raw Fish Set) S$17.99This is one of the worst Japanese meals I ever had. The prawn was NOT FRESH at all. The salmon was not cold and it wasn't tasty. Why serve raw fish when you can't keep the items fresh? It is really quite disgusting.I would rather pay S$12.99 for the same set (but a whole lot more delicious) at MOF without all the appetizers! You know how sometimes when you eat something and you know whether this dish was prepared with love and passion? This had nothing. This was like very bad fast food.To summarise, the only good aspects about this restaurant is the potato salad and the cheap drink bar (S$1.99 for free flow). Otherwise, nothing seemed worthy of another visit. You've been warned! Now I experience truly for myself that long queues doesn't mean excellent must-try food. And the total bill was S$44.70. Totally not worth it.Read more here: http://myfatpocket.com/judging-me/?p=3533…Read More

Nice
Nara Japanese Restaurant
2011-03-09
My girlfriends and I found ourselves at Novena one day and passed by Nara. Hey, we love everything Japanese so we decided to give Nara a try. Never heard of Nara prior to this!A must try is Nara Special Maki! It comes with a grilled fish in the middle and it's super nice la!! We ordered this twice!! Century egg tofu was also very yummy! The service was quite good with friendly servers. You don't feel rushed by them at all. Overall, a great place for food and chit chat!I'll be back!! …Read More

Must TRY
Ichiban Boshi
2011-03-09
It was a colleague's birthday so we headed to nearby Great World City to have a celebratory lunch for her. This has to be the best Ichiban Boshi outlet in Singapore. The environment is very cozy and it's not overly crowded (perhaps due to being located at GWC where it's not crowded mostly + its lunch time). The food was really good. Came hot and the portions were large. I felt so guilty eating everything! MUST TRY dishes include the "chopped salmon and tuna sashimi rice", the "salmon sashimi wrapped around rice and topped off with mayo"I think the food is great value for money, and they come in set meals at an average of 20++ per set. The takeout sushi selection is also pretty extension and very fresh.…Read More

Try the Grass Jelly Milk Tea
KOI Café
2011-03-09
I always head to KOI for Milk Tea with Grass Jelly at 25% sugar levelThe milk tea is yums!! And the grass jelly, is simply.............................. the BEST companion to the milk tea. For the price of a large cup, you can get a starbucks coffee but this is so much nicer! Long queues for this at bugis branch! So, go prepared to wait in line!…Read More

Yum Yum!!
Watami Japanese Dining
2011-03-09
I had the 2 person set ($49) and 3 of us shared it and found the portion good enough even for three! The portions were very big and generous. The taste is great as well. The only thing I would complain about is the long queues but then again, if it ain't good, I wouldn't have to queue right? This is singapore after all. If you find yourself there, the pizza and the salmon sashimi is a must try!Visit my blog: http://judging-me.blogspot.com…Read More
