If you're going to your relative's celebration and are still clueless on what you can bring, here's an easy recipe you can prepare from Song of India's executive chef, Manjunath Mural.
1 tbsp Green Tea (dilute it 2 tbsp of water, set aside) 2 cups desiccated coconut 1 cup sugar 1 cup water Green colouring 2 tbsp Ghee clarified butter 2 tbsp pistachio flakes Silver leaf for decoration (optional)
Method
1. Heat butter in pan. Add desiccated coconut and sauté in medium heat for 5 minutes.
2. Add sugar, 1 cup of water, green tea, and a few drops of green colouring.
3. Cook it in medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture becomes semi thick. Add in the pistachio nuts, turn off the flame and let the mixture cool down.
4. Brush tray with a few drops of oil. Pour the mixture into it and spread it evenly with a spatula. If you want you can add silver or gold lead on top of it.
5. Put inside the chiller for 2 hours. After that, take it out, cut evenly into squares, and serve.
