500g chicken 1 tbp light soya sauce 3/4 tbsp dark soya sauce (for color) 3/4 tbsp oyster sauce 1/2 tbsp sugar Pinch of salt 4pcs small onion 4pcs garlic 4 slices lengkuas 1/2 stick cinnamon 1 star anise
Method
1. Marinate chicken for at least 30mins. 2. Pour onto pan and cook on med heat for 5mins, flip the chicken once to cook evenly. 3. Add 150-200ml water and simmer on low flame for 15mins. Flip the chicken once or twice and add more water, if desired.
