I was expecting this eatery to be a corner kiosk, but was pleasantly surprised it has "equal standing" with other eateries such as Thai Express, in terms of space.

My friend and I were promptly ushered to our seats and food was served quickly after we made our orders. We ordered the following:

Meatball Soup
The soup was flavourful!! Meatballs were big, and makes a good alternative to the other rice and noodle mains.

Pepper Salt Chicken
On first look, it just looks like ordinary fried chicken pieces. But it was really delicious!!! I could taste the pepper within, but it wasn't to the extent of "hot". The chicken wasn't salty too. All fried chicken lovers should give a shot at this dish! Also, there are also some green leaves served with the dish, which I think are deep-fried. Its taste blends with the chicken when eaten together. Wonderful!

Fried Tofu
This dish was ordered by mistake. My friend had ordered the set meal, where there is 1 side dish. We assumed that that side dish would be served in as a smaller serving, hence ordered this in place of the Century Egg Tofu (Cold Tofu), which we would like to try in a larger serving. Nothing special about this dish, only that the tofu was well-fried, i.e. not over-fried until the skin becomes tough. The sauce that accompanies iy tasted bland, even though there were chilli bits in it. I loved the bits of sour cabbage which came with this dish. They gave a refreshing taste.

Century Egg Tofu (Cold Tofu)
I like the flaky bits on this tofu. Never knew what it was, but it was nice! The century egg wasn't too "intense" in taste, hence it was palatable to me. Good combination of food here.

Iced Jasmine Green Tea
This was in fact, a bubble tea. The drink was rather sweet in the beginning, but after the ice has melted, it was just right. The pearls in this drink can top that of Koi's, Gong Cha and Froggy Tea! They're smaller and the texture is also softer, without losing the chewiness. Also, the serving of pearls was just right. I get sick of bubble teas sometimes when the amount of pearls overwhelm the drink, even after I requested for the pearls to be halved in amount! So, give the bubble tea here a shot!

(On this note, if you have ordered hot teas, they come served with pearls as well! Interesting!)

Braised Pork Belly with Egg
This is 1 sinful dish! But with every sin, comes pleasure! The braised pork was really SO SO SO good!!!!!!!!!! The BEST DISH out of all the above dishes!!! The pork simply absorbs all the flavours with it! Moreover, it was cut into small pieces, hence you could devour the fats in the pork, without feeling guilty (whatever fats will seem insignificant, due to the small cuts). The only shame is, they didn't include this dish as a side dish in the set meal, even when i offered to top up the difference. It has to be ordered as an ala carte side dish, or as braised pork rice. Too much rigidity for a good dish like this! Guess "Lai Lai" could also explore combining this dish with their vermicelli! I would probably KO from this combination!

Total Cost: Meatball Soup - $6.90
Pepper Salt Chicken - $4.20
Century Egg Tofu - $4.50
Iced Jasmine Green Tea - $3.50
Braised Pork Belly with Egg - $8.90
