The Moluccas Room offers contemporary Indonesian cuisine with a French twist. The setting of the restaurant is very cosy and of great ambience. Next to the Marina Bay, the view is simply gorgeous, especially sunset during the dinner time. Meal is always started with the complimentary appetizer prepared by the lovely chef. We ordered the Binte biluhuta pangsit mente kemanggi ($15). The spicy sweetcorn soup is slightly hot but very appetizing. The soup base is not overly starchy, with heaps of corn kennels in it. Finally, it's topped with grilled prawn and crispy pesto ravioli, yummy!

Otah-otah Jakarta ($13) is the Indonesian style fragrant grilled fish cakes, rich in spices flavour. The sweet and sour nutty flavoured sauce is surprising well-matched with otah-otah.

Udang belado padang ($29) is the pan-fried prawns topped with an aromatic Western Sumatra sauteed chilli sambal. Very spicy yet too good to stop at one. Thumbs up!

Instead of white rice, we asked for yellow rice, which is cooked with tumeric etc. Nice fragrant.

As for desserts, Sri kaya creme brulee ($12) is good! The creamy coconut crusted fragrantly flavoured with pandan and topped with caramelized crust. Smooth texture at the bottom, and crusty on top! Also, it's accompanied with a irresistable scoop of homemae sorbet! Awesome!

Serabi pandan ($12) is the Indonesian pancake with pandan flavour. It's served with creamy jackfruit pulps and generous drizzles of molten palm sugar sauce. Good taste of Indonesia!
