What attracted me was the everlasting queue outside Hifumi. Before one gets to have a taste of the food, he has to wait for an average of 30-45 minutes during peak hours. This is the second time I came to Hifumi and the appetizer bar is still the highlight of this Japanese restaurant. For any set meal that you order, you are entitled to have a free flow of appetizer from the bar (they don't serve a la carte FYI, all are set meals).Really love their jelly fish appetizer, it's crunchy and fresh an

This is the second time I came to Hifumi and the appetizer bar is still the highlight of this Japanese restaurant. For any set meal that you order, you are entitled to have a free flow of appetizer from the bar (they don't serve a la carte FYI, all are set meals). Really love their jelly fish appetizer, it's crunchy and fresh and served chilled. Their potato salad is also worth raving about, my friend made a few trips to the bar just to get her potato craving satisfied. The chawanmushi is the fastest moving item on the bar - two minutes after a new batch was dished out, people just swarm over to snatch the little cups of steamed eggs. My two friends and I had two cups each. My set dinner - fresh salmon with lotus root marinated in vinegar. Healthy and light to the palate.
Average spending per person is less than $20 which I think it's quite affordable for the quality AND quantity of food.
