Located at the heart of Raffles Place, next to the Singapore River, Arashi Yakiniku Charcoal Grill Restaurant is the right place for you to have authentic Japanese BBQ. I'm not so much of a fan of BBQ pork tho.. I'm a little bit over conscious about that layer of fats. But to others, pork belly is one of the must for a BBQ!

They also have pork collar meat which was more to my liking, slightly less fatty and more chewy.

Other than beef and pork, they also serve chicken.

The chicken was tender, but it might not be under my must get dish for Japanese BBQ. I would rather you try the beef or pork. ;)

Arashi also serve seafood platter which includes Fresh Tiger Prawns and Scallop, together with Salmon that is being serve in a separate aluminum bowl. The seafood was fresh, especially the prawns, they were sweet and juicy. You know that the prawns are fresh when the meat can be separated from the shell, and the crunchy meat! As for the salmon, it was being serve in some sauce together with a little bit of butter. The sauce did go well with the salmon. And being a fan of salmon, I love this dish a lot!

We also tried some of their a la carte menu.
First up, the tempura. If you're a fan of fried food, this dish would be the right choice! Fresh prawn dipped into the tempura batter accompanied by the sauce, (Y). I would suggest that you finish them while it is hot!

Next, we tried their Cod fish. The fish was fresh, the slices of "solid meat" and not those that are not fresh and they come apart. The sauce was of the right saltiness level too!

Do try their Ninniku Gohan aka garlic rice -$4.80 which was really fragrant! And if you like clams, you can also try their Asari Miso Soup - $7.80 , which has a generous amount of clams!

In the video you'll also see the sauce that was provided and the appetizers – Namuru (Side Pickled Vegetables) - $7.80.

Lastly, not to worry about coming in big groups, they have private rooms available for group as large as 10 pax! Being a Japanese restaurant, the service was tip top, efficient and friendly!

I can't deny that the food is pricey, but 一分钱,一份收获.
Take a break from those Korean BBQ, give Arashi a try!

But as a student now, and given the price of the food, i don't think i'll visit again, unless during special events, or maybe i'll be back to try their beef of the lower grade at a cheaper price.
