My husband and I made a second trip down to Queensway Shopping Centre so he could buy that pair of Nike Dunk Low sneakers he had been eyeing since our last visit. But it was a wasted effort as that model he wanted was no longer in stock and we just couldn’t find it in any other shop there. But it was a wasted effort as that model he wanted was no longer in stock and we just couldn’t find it in any other shop there. I knew he was feeling a little disappointed so I treated him to his favourite laksa to cheer him up. At the same time, we also wanted to try the ‘other’ laksa stall (328 Katong Laksa) that was located within the same level as its competitor, Janggut Laksa (#01-59) which I thought was a little overrated because of its longer heritage and history that I shall not dwell into. I tried Janggut Laksa once but didn’t really enjoy it that much. All I remembered was the tremendous amount of oil floating on top of the gravy that wasn’t really worth me blogging about it.

As I am looking up on 328 Katong Laksa now, I’m pleasantly surprised to discover it is the same outlet where I had eaten at United Square a long while back. I was impressed with the laksa gravy then and I’m still impressed with it today.

We ordered the smallest portions of laksa and curry chicken with rice. While the curry chicken was still considered sufficient for one person, the laksa was miserly portioned. In fact, the bowl was only half-filled when it came. Despite that, the taste was still as good as I remembered. The gravy wasn’t overly greasy (didn’t see oil floating on top) and had a good balance of aromatics and coconut milk. it came with a reasonable quantity of prawns and fish cake slices too. The gravy was so tasty, you could just slurp all up with the spoon. That’s how it should be enjoyed anyway!

There are 2 laksa stalls in Queensway Shopping Ctr and i've tried both. 328 Katong Laksa stall here has a milky flavored gravy and it's not spicy (which suits me very well).I ordered a small bowl which is rather little in my opinion...should have ordered the medium one. Ordered Teh Cino as well which is a disaster. The tea doesn't have fragrance and the milk at the bottom is not sweet at all!On the whole, I recommend the laksa here, but probably get the drink elsewhere.

barley drink $1+ the taste was quite artificial and did not taste like homemade barley. there was also no barley pulp or the thickness of the barley below and it was quite sweet too. $1.20 otah.the otah was quite spicy and tasted good however it was really cold as it was left there for quite some time so it affected the taste a lot. what a pity. $4.50 katong laksa. I got the medium sized one and it was just right for me. As compared to the one at katong, this one was not as yummy but still good

Ordered a bowl of katong laksa for $3.50 (the smallest size). The taste was quite comparable with the 328 Katong Laksa but this was slightly milkier and the kick of the chilli was not there even though I added a lot of chilli. It was not the best laksa I have tasted but still good to satisfy one's cravings. Portion was not really filling for the $3.50 size but would be so for a small eater. The laksa was also served hot which made it taste better

Was shopping for some sports apparel at night and went to have katong laksa as supper after that! I've previously tried it at the katong outlet and was really liked the fact that one can just use a spoon to eat it! I got my laksa relatively fast after ordering! I can't take much spicy food so I did not mix my soup with the chilli given. But nevertheless, I still like it a lot because the gravy is so nice! But I found the gravy to be a little diluted though. After shopping for our sports wear, my bestie and I came to have lunch here.Of course we had to order their Katong Laksa! What I loved the most is how they made it so convenient and easy to eat the noodles with just a spoon by cutting up the noodles into smaller bits.Taste wise, I think this is of average standard only. However, the service here is really good as the staff is really friendly and efficient.I wouldn't mind coming back here again for the laka!

Who say Katong laksa can only be found at Katong? There's one at Queensway Shopping Centre. I love to eat katong laksa because it's easier to eat with a spoon. The white thick bee hoon is already cut into shorter pieces. Served with prawns, bean sprouts, fishcake, dried shrimp and cockles, it's a yummy dish to eat. However, I felt that the standard of the laksa here have dropped. Usually there would be a big crowd surrounding the place but not today. I felt that the gravy is not as thick and creamy as before and they only gave me 3 small prawns for a medium serving. Thus I think overall is average only.
