Lot 1 was getting a little boring so my family and I ventured a little further North to Yew Tee. Settled for West Co'z as it looked quite crowded. This is the LuoHan Vegetables ($10 for small). We also got the Curry Fish Head ($16 for small). There are only 2 sizes so either the small for $16 or large for $19. The curry's spiciness was just nice for my family and the fish was processed well. There was no fish scales. The fish was smooth and glided down my throat. There was also a generous serving of brinjal and lady's finger. Sedap!

The mee goreng from West Co'z is indeed a must order dish from West Co'z. Their mee goreng is totally different from those you eat at Zi Char stall. Theirs did not taste of tomato ketchup. i must admit it was a little spicy for me. There were prawns fried together with the noodles. the prawns were very fresh and it was very succulent. the noodles were very tasty, it did not stick to the teeth. i like the egg they fry together with the noodles. made it taste really delicious.

I decided to treat my mummy to some nice food at West Co'z as the rest of the family could not make it for dinner. The two of us ordered more than we could finish. On top of the mains, we ordered two more dishes to add on, Bitter Gourd Omelette and Asparagus with Oyster Sauce. We each ordered an Orange Juice as our beverage as well. I will do a review on each dish.

Thai Styled Fried Rice ($5.50) - The fried rice was very fragrant, it was accompanied with a few pieces of fried chicken. They also set aside chopped chilli padi for you to mix in if you wanted a spicier taste. A slab of lemon was also placed at the side, I squeezed it and mixed the lemon juice with the rice and it gave it a sourish flavour. It was pretty good, the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Pineapple Rice ($5.50) - I tried mummy's Pineapple Rice, the rice was like my fried rice, very fragrant. They fry cubes of chicken along with the rice. The pineapple was cut into pretty large chunks and there were quite a lot of it. The pineapple gave the rice a sweetish, sourish flavour.

Bitter Gourd Omelette ($6) - When my mum ordered the bitter gourd omelette, i was quite afraid that the entire dish would turn out very bitter, however, it was not the case! The bitter gourd did not taste bitter at all. The omelette is pretty huge size, well seasoned and goes well with the bitter gourd.

Asparagus with Oyster Sauce ($10) - Asparagus is one of our family's favourite vegetables. I was pleased to find it in the menu. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, it was juicy and crunchy at the same time. Its natural sweetness went well with the oyster sauce. They added the right proportion of Oyster Sauce so it did not taste too salty.

Orange Juice ($2 per glass) - The orange juice was not the freshly squeezed kind. It was more of the syrup kind. No pulp visible and found in the juice, but at least it was not too sweet and did quench our thirst.

Level of Service - i would give them 4 out of 5 points i guess. Mum and I did not wait long to be seated. The waitress did take initiative to approach us to take our orders. Food was churned out of the kitchen pretty fast too, but we went before the dinner crowd came.

This restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere. It is a great place for family gathering, they have quite a number of large tables to cater to large groups of people. Baby chairs are also readily available for those with kids. Good place for gathering.

My recommendation is to come slightly earlier as this place gets pretty crowded during meal times and food may take longer to come out.

If you happened to be in the area of Yew Tee and happened to be a student, do head down to West Co’z and try their student lunch. For $5, you can choose any rice or noodle main course and a drink. I opted for their thai style fried rice and their lime juice. The juice was served first, it was pretty sour, what to expect from a cup of lime. Nevertheless it really whets your appetite. The thai style fried rice is really good, they got set aside chilli padi for you to stir into the rice if you want

As I was on a pretty tight budget but I wanted to treat myself to a better meal so I headed to west co’z and order their fried chye poh omelette and a plate of rice. their omelette is pretty huge, fits exactly the size of a plate. If you happened to go to west co’z for a meal, I recommend their basil chicken. For those who loves spicy, well this is the dish for you. The chicken is cooked in this spicy sauce. The meat is very tender and juicy. there is a fragrant basil freshness taste in the sauce. if you find it too hot or spicy, it is most advisable to eat with their white rice. it somehow counters some spiciness.

i think the hot and sour soup at west co’z is one of the nicer ones I have tasted. Hot and sour soup are normally cooked pretty starchy, but the one at west co’z is just right, it is not too starchy. The flavor is just right, it is not too sour and it is not too spicy as well. The soup is not too salty and very tasty. It goes absolutely well with white rice. i love the egg strips in the soup, makes it taste even nicer.

Lastly, the hotpot tofu consist of cabbage, slices of corn, prawn, carrot slice and with a layer of egg at the bottom. The tofu was soft and smooth, seasoning was sufficient and not too salty. However the gravy was a bit too little.
Overall, a cafe offering delicious food at affordable price and is worth a try.
