Fried Kway Teow or Hokkien Mee? Well, having tried the latter a few months back, I had chosen Kway Teow.

Uncle had 2 woks, one for Hokkien Mee while the other for fried kway teow. Hokkien Mee was seen constantly replenish by him unlike CKT (Char Kway Teow).

Good or bad? Good that I had my plate of CKT teow cooked from a scratch and had the entire fried egg to my plate of Kway Teow. While the bad is that I had spent a little longer for them to be cooked.

Everything was fine, its ingredients and the taste of the sweet and black sauce coated over the Kway Teow Mee was great, even the cockles were fresh. However I find the plate of CKT was abit moist for me as I notice the little pool of water when I almost finish my plate of noodle.

If to choose between its CKT and Hokkien Mee, I will simply vote for the latter.

To gain applause from customers, I believe that chilli plays one of the important role among all condiments. A successful and delicious plate of hokkien mee must definitely comes with good sambal chilli! The sambal chilli is tasty and not overly spicy.

Besides that, I like that the mee are wet enough with just nice amount of gravy. The mee has a slightest charred smell and makes a perfect combination with the sambal chilli.

2 prawns are given for per S$3.00 plate. What's good about the stall is that the lime and chilli are free flow which makes me could not resist myself to add more spoonfuls of sambal chilli onto my plate.

I felt very awkward during my ordering process as there was no response from the man when I told him I wanted a plate of Hokkien mee. He continues to cook his big pile of hokkien mee somehow giving me the feeling that he ignored my presence. I waited patiently at the front of his stall for him to complete his "mass production" of Hokkien Mee. Good that I had seen the entire process and the way he cook. He is quite skillful from the way he cooks and separate out the mee.
I was so immersed in his cooking process until he turned to me and asked if I want chilli with a plate of hokkien mee on his hands. I was kind of surprised that he actually heard me earlier on. Since its a one man show service, I dont expect much.

Pricing is quite competitive and reasonable in the market.

Yong Tau Foo is a common dish that you can find in most hawker centre and food court. I personally prefer stalls that sell homemade Yong Tau Foo.
