Mention truffle fries and it's a favorite among many people! I have already heard of good reviews so my expectations were pretty high for it.

I wasn't disappointed! It's really yummy! Truffle taste was strong enough, pretty good portion. I love it!

Great for mushroom lovers! I love this. Firstly, i find the presentation nice. Taste wise, didn't disappoint. Exterior was nice and crisp, once you cut it open, lots of mushroom goodness in it.

I like the hint of truffle-y taste in this when you bite into it. It's simply heavenly!

Café by day and restaurant at night, Symmetry’s offering are inspired by Australian casual dining culture and French cuisine. Brunch plates here exemplify timeless comfort.
The venue is very small and was so packed during the weekends, so much so that I was unable to take any nice pictures of the space. Generally, the vibes are good. Expect rustic, slightly uncoordinated decor, loud music, noisy chatter and energetic, efficient staff.
Dull in presentation but not in taste, the Crisps Baby Squid ($17) is one of the better ones I’ve tried in recent memory. Perfectly fried and well-seasoned, the crisp batter gave way to chewy baby squids. Dip it into the accompanying black pepper aioli for optimum enjoyment.
Symmetry is well-known for their truffle fries and I’m glad to say that they did not disappoint. The Potato Fries ($15) with truffle oil emulsion emanates an earthy aroma, and rewards the palate with a depth of flavors that made me want to chase every bite with another. The portion is generous, good for sharing between 3-4 diners but for 2 people it’s simply too much (hubby and I were struggling to finish them). Wished Symmetry made these fries available in small and large sizes.
Everything is better with an egg on it, unfortunately for us, the sous vide style eggs in The Flan ($24) failed to flow as they were overcooked. The combination of melt-in-the-mouth Berkshire pork cheek, mushroom ragout, low temperature eggs, soubise sauce, mashed potatoes, pommery mustard and argula makes for an atypical brunch treat, a welcomed change from predictable brunch dishes.
I was craving for something sweet and Symmetry Waffles ($16) caught my eye. Stacked aesthetically, the waffles are spruced up with summer berries compote, peanut butter, hazelnut, maple syrup, Chantilly cream and berries ice cream. The waffles themselves were good- the exterior brown and crisps while the insides remain moist and plush. Satisfaction guaranteed!
Although prices veer towards the higher end, the ingredient quality, creativity and execution is worth the price tag. IMHO, Symmetry is one of the better brunch destinations in Singapore.

The price seems high when looking through the menu and the expectations naturally goes hand on hand.
We ordered Crispy Baby Squid $17, Symmetry Eggs Benedict $22, Truffle Potato Fries $15, Truffle Mushroom Carbonara $23, Symmetry Eggs Sur Le Plat $24 and Waffles $16.
Must try the Symmetry Eggs Benedict, Symmetry Eggs Sur Le Plat, Truffle Mushroom Carbonara and Truffle Potato Fries.
Our verdict, Symmetrical comes with balancing of everything to achieve harmony and equilibrium. At Symmetry, the price is not easily to stomach for many and not easily balanced with the budgets, fortunately, it made up with the quality of the food.
Please refer to www.ieatandeat.com for details review.

Following her recommendation we decided to give this cafe a try on a Saturday Morning. Without knowing, it was actually nearby where LD's pick for food reflexology in SG. Symmetry Cafe is a new breed of cafes in Singapore that are heavily influenced by the Australian casual dining trends. It is a cafe by day and morph into casual restaurant bar by night. Definition of bar, is that alcohol is definitely involve here. A place for people to gather to enjoy a great meal and drinks. Food sharing are welcome.

We walk in without reservation that morning and was lucky enough to get a table. The service staff politely inform us that due to prior reservation, we need to vacate the table at a certain time. No problemo, so we quickly placed our brunch order.
Hickory Corned Beef & Hash ($22) catch my eyes, while LD's pick Truffle Egg Mushroom ($21) with extra hash brown. My caffeine pick was Latte and LD's goes for Chai Tea Latte and Calpis Soda drink.

My Corned Beef served in a cast iron pan. Food is kind of interesting, as it looked like it is all mash up together, but all the ingredients gel well. I poke the egg to allow the yolk to ooze to the corned beef, and using my bread to scoop it. The corned beef is flavourful and not salty, while the potatoes and salad give a different texture to the dish. The bread used here has a similar texture to the soft colourful traditional coffeeshop bread. It will be good if there is another slice of bread to polish up the proteins.

LD's Truffle Egg Mushroom comes with scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, truffle oil, berries butter and toast. Served on a long plate, the presentation is just gorgeous. The eggs are fluffy and the mushrooms are nicely executed, however she was a little taken back by the pungent smell of the truffle oil. It seems the kitchen was a little too generous with it. The hash browns are crispy and the berries butter goes down well with the toast.

The latte is smooth and well balanced. While the Chai Tea Latte is a bit on the sweet side and lack of cinnamon according to LD. We both enjoy the calpis soda, although it is slightly flat, missing the carbonated feel of soda.

Service was good and polite, however it can be slightly hard to catch their attention. The ambiance here is very good. Crowded yet relaxing with lounge music playing in the background. They try to maximise the space available with counter seats as well. We manage to check out before the customers that reserved the table arrives.

Overall, Symmetry Cafe / Restaurant Bar are one of the best cafe that we tried this year. The food is great and the same can be said about the atmosphere. The best part, you can actually make reservation online, so you won't get disappointed. Drinks price for brunch is on the high side, more like bar price instead of cafe. Thanks Fundamentally Flawed for the recommendations. Cheers!!

So we ordered their calamari with squid ink sauce, salmon with risotto and pork belly.  The pork belly was tender and the proportion of fats and meat was good. The calamari was a little too oily for my taste. The risotto was not the creamy kind and tasted nice. We really enjoyed the food but the price is a little steep.

The service was good and the place was full house so reservation is needed. I would go back and try their brunch next time.

My Ham Hock & Pancetta Steak $23++, comes with smoked Italian bacon steak, shredded pork knuckle, scramble eggs, hash brown, crispy toast and some greens. The roast pork knuckle was very well marinated and cooked till extremely soft, I love eating this with the eggs on the toast. The savory pancetta steak was tender and juicy which was delish, and the crispy hash brown was yummy as well.

The BIG Breakfast $24++, has 2 eggs of choice (scrambled, poached & sunny side up), maple glazed bacon, smoked salmon, chicken cheese sausage, sauteed mushrooms, hash brown, crispy toast and greens. My friend had her eggs poached, and they were served covered with melted cheese, she loved it! The giant cheesy sausage and the other ingredients makes up a really huge and filling dish, my friend had trouble finishing all of them.

Steak & Eggs $29++, comes with grilled steak, sunny side ups, chunky bratwurst sausage, toast and greens, served with honey mustard & caramelized onion sauce. My friend was happy with her steak which was well done but still tender, the juicy German pork sausage and eggs were nicely executed too.

The crisp and fluffy waffles were served with berries compote, peanut butter, nutella, maple syrup, honeycomb ice cream and chantilly cream. One of the best waffles we've eaten...thumbs up!

We were greeted by a friendly waiting staff and ushered swiftly to a table at the back of the cafe. The cafe was only half full at 2pm. I was able to take some pictures after we had placed orders for our food.
This place has an industrial themed decor with hanging factory lighting and kerosene lamps, and unfinished brick walls, wooden fixtures and metal shelves. Intriguing paintings lined the walls that piqued our interest...such as 'The Last Supper' scene with an amusing twist.

My Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio $22++, Spaghetti tossed with garlic, togarashi, konbu, chive, olive oil in white wine sauce. There was a good amount of de-shelled halve prawns in this dish, and the togarashi chili pepper seasoning was pretty spicy...giving the dish a fiery boost on flavor. The prawns were very fresh and pasta was done well too, seriously delish!

Hubby's Snapper Meunière $24++, pan fried whole snapper fillet with brown butter and lemon confit, served with capers, almond, kelp, wakame & cherry tomatoes. The fresh and juicy white fish meat was cooked to perfection with a strong buttery flavor. Hubby was singing praises about this fish dish after devouring it within mins.

Our enjoyment didn't just end here, the highlight of the day Waffle $16++, served with berries compote, peanut butter, nutella, maple syrup & blueberry ice cream topped with chantilly cream. The thick and fluffy waffle was expertly prepared with slight crisp crust and soft spongy center, and it smelt really really good when served. Apart from the impressive plating, it tasted incredible too with the 6 different kinds of accompaniments, one dish with 6 types of flavors...what more can I say.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here at the Symmetry cafe, food quality was outstanding and service was very good too. The serving staff didn't need to write down our orders and she remembered that I had specially instructed to serve my pasta w/o cheese. The cafe also has a nice ambiance to boot. It is such a great feeling to step out of a restaurant feeling full and truly satisfied...I will definitely be back in a heart beat!

I saw people ordering their waffles and the dessert look irresistible! Truffle fries and their waffles would make a beautiful combination for my next brunch at the eatery. Symmetry is a great eatery for brunch with friendly service staff and I suppose I will return pretty soon for another meal.

In concurrence with the philosophy of Symmetry that "If everybody learns to share, the world will have enough", we were excited about our planned trip to the cafe. Tucked away in a serene spot within Jalan Kubor (close to Bugis), the cafe turns into a restaurant bar in the evening. Inspired by the Australian casual dining culture and French cuisine, Symmetry places great emphasis on sharing and prides itself for using modern food preparation techniques on fresh produces.

We felt that the latte art on the flat white was something that could be improved but in terms of flavours, it had a relatively good balance between the acidity of the coffee beans and the foamed milk though the after-taste had a strong creamy and milky finish.
The long black coffee on the other hand carried a sharp acidity which puckered my mouth. I am in general, very particular about my brew and on this particular occasion, it did not quite go my preferred way.

Served with diced portobello mushrooms and bacon, the classic English muffins played host to the soft-boiled eggs cooked at low temperature. The technique used was largely similar to the eggs ben tried at The Missing Pan though this rendition had melted aged cheddar to top off the dish. Due to the preparation technique, the eggs were wobbly soft, tasting almost like your soft-boiled eggs.

We enjoyed the crispness of the freshly toasted muffin and the beautiful caramelised onions that introduced a hint of sweetness to complement the savoury bacon. The freshness of the ingredients was guaranteed when the viscous bright orange egg yolk started flowing out upon the first slice of the knife.
We would however have preferred a more generous portion of the classic Hollandaise sauce as that was an element sorely lacking in the dish to define a classic eggs benedict.

Recommended by the serving lady as one of Symmetry's signature dishes, we unveiled the toast to reveal a mixture of pork sausages, smoked paprika, cherry tomato coulis, creamed baby spinach and eggs topped with cheddar cheese.
Expect some rich flavours in that thin tomato purée which had been infused with the savouriness of the pork sausages. Paired with the creamed baby spinach, it went well with the crisp toast and portion of greens to cleanse one's palate.

Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, expect a queue on the weekends. At the entrance of the cafe was a tablet which offered an automated queue system. After inputting the number of dining guests and your contact details, expect a SMS to come instantaneously to confirm your booking. As soon as your table is available and ready, you will receive an updated text from the system.
While we were impressed by the automated service, we felt that the service lacked personal touches and it was no more different from the next cafe. With its philosophy built around the beautiful idea of sharing, we felt that the message was not delivered across to the diners. Among the three of us, we decided to share two mains but somehow the tonality of the lady made us felt as if we under-ordered, albeit an awkward manner.

Overall, I appreciated the philosophy in writing largely, especially the line that goes "This is a place where you can walk in every single time knowing it's going to be good and then leave feeling happier...and loved". The actual cafe dining experience however failed to nail that perspective for me and while the food was decent, it was not particularly impressionable. Compared to the other cafes out there, prices of the mains at Symmetry command a premium which makes it even less palatable.
Nonetheless, taste is a very subjective matter and it would be some time yet for us to return anytime soon.

Tagliatelle pasta, mix mushroom, creme fraiche, parmesan cheese, arugula salad
The cream pasta was really good! Not a fan of pork usually, but the pork cheeks were so juicy and tender that I had quite a huge portion.

Lychee, fresh mint, lime juice and brown sugar
This is a MUST-TRY!
Super refreshing and it puts you in a completely chillax mood once you take a sip of it.

was back to symmetry on a weekday, which is much better as we dont have to queue even without prior reservation.this time round i have tried a different dish - truffle mushroom, which consists of scrambled eggs, saute mushroom, truffle oil and berries butter with a toast. Was quite satisfied with this. the scrambled eggs were nicely done, creamy and soft enough. the berries butter taste so good with the toast. i have never had such butter before. its sweet and yet not giving you a very oily butt

The saute mushroom on the other hand, does not taste so nice as i could barely taste thte truffle oil. but overall, this was not too bad.

This cost me around $23 after service charge and gst which i find it quite pricey though.

This was my first time at symmetry and I suggest you people to make reservation (around 1 week in advance) if you are going on a weekend. Otherwise, you will have to queue for quite awhile. It is a rather small café located at Victoria Street. There are both outdoor and indoor seats available. I would prefer the seats in the latter as it gives a more cozy feelingI have ordered Symmetry Egg Benedict (sgd $22+) and it consists of poached egg, English muffin with mushroom and bacon wrapped around it

I really love the presentation of this dish. Makes you feel like eating it immediately as it looks so appetizing! The poached eggs were really good and up to standard. Very runny and well flavored. The bacon is tasty too and the tip of it is very crispy. My only complaint will be the English muffin is a little hard. Also, the dish is rather pricey as it is around $25 after gst and service charge.Overall, I will be back to try other the other dishes with my friends in future.
