Good morning folks, look what I've gotten myself again! Half a dozen of colourful pretty little things, 6 pieces of macarons from canele. What flavours did I choose this time, you must thinking: Rose, salted caramel, hazelnut, feuilletine, chocolate noir and raspberry (special flavour of the month). I really love the rose macaron a lot, though I'm not a fan of bandung! The rest are really good too. To be honest, I can't find any faults to which aren't nice at all! Trust me, they have one of the best macarons in singapore! Do try them continue reading

Dessert was at Canele Pattiserrie. I ordered a piece of le gateau fromage which means cheese cake in french. It was super awesome. Smooth and velvety texture. The cream cheese was rich and luscious. It was simply yummy. the Crumble biscuit at the bottom of the cake added some sweetness to the overall. It is highly recommended. This restaurant is also very nicely decorated, which makes a very nice place to chill. continue reading

There are quite a few Canele outlets with the latest one (if I'm not wrong) at Plaza Singapura's new wing. Being told that their macaroons was good, I decided to try out their other desserts which looks good and is so hard to resist when you walk past those display cases We ordered a strawberry shortcake and a creme brulee. The strawberry shortcake was really pretty, but sadly it was quite a disappointment as I thought its taste would match its aesthetic appeal. To me I felt it was more of a normal sponge cake with strawberries in it. However, the creme brulee was good! Rich smooth texture with the sweet sugar crusted top. Personally I preferred the creme brulee over the shortcake, as it is more value for money. I love the place though (we went to the paragon outlet), with large plush sofa chairs - it gives this majestic appeal that makes you feel like sitting in there sipping tea the whole afternoon continue reading

I'm too lazy to bake anything for the potluck comin’ up, so i bought macarons for the party since I was at paragon area. I ordered assorted flavours of macarons from Canele, this place is clean and has a neatly orderly display case which makes it easier to order for takeaway. Staff was fast and friendly.Crunchy and chewy meringue shells filled with many different smooth and rich cream; Salted caramel was my favorite out of all the flavours, next is pistachio and chocolate noir. My friends all loved it and were singing praises. Awesome ! continue reading

After having tried their delicious macarons previously, I was quite sure that Canele's cakes would not disappoint. So for my mother's birthday, we decided to get her a cake from Canele and being chocolate-lovers, it was a no-brainer to get the Le Chocolat Croustillant, which is basically a fancy french name for Crispy Chocolate Cake. Le Chocolat Croustillant ($38)The cake is made up of luscious Vanini chocolate mousse layered between a crispy chocolate praline, opulent Gianduja cream, surrounded by a wall of divine dark chocolate glaze & crushed hazelnuts. In other words, heaven in a box. The chocolate mousse was thick and rich, and would definitely satisfy the cocoa-craving in you! Despite being made almost entirely out of mousse and cream (no sponge cake layers or anything), it was not too cloying and hit all the right spots. The layer of crushed hazelnuts at the bottom made it even better because its crispy texture contrasted well with the smooth mousse and cream. The fact that it tasted like nutella was also a bonus because seriously, who doesn't love nutella?! Needless to say, my mom loved her cake and we will be definitely ordering more of these in the future! That said, enjoying this cake should not be limited to birthdays. Whenever you have a chocolate craving, this is the cake that will fulfil it and more! Highly recommended to all the chocolate and nutella lovers out there, Viva El Chocolate!~ continue reading
