There are quite a few Canele outlets with the latest one (if I'm not wrong) at Plaza Singapura's new wing. The strawberry shortcake was really pretty, but sadly it was quite a disappointment as I thought its taste would match its aesthetic appeal. To me I felt it was more of a normal sponge cake with strawberries in it. However, the creme brulee was good! Rich smooth texture with the sweet sugar crusted top. Personally I preferred the creme brulee over the shortcake, as it is more value for money. I love the place though (we went to the paragon outlet), with large plush sofa chairs - it gives this majestic appeal that makes you feel like sitting in there sipping tea the whole afternoon
