The only uniqueness of the black carrot cake from Kampong Carrot Cake perhaps lies with its nostalgia taste; the style and taste of this black radish cake very much give you the same feeling of eating the same fried cai Tao Kueh along the road side’s stalls that perhaps can only be found in Malaysia now. Eating the black carrot cake from Kampong Carrot Cake is not just on the taste but the feeling of attachment and sentiment values from the old Kampong spirit. Unfortunately, for the younger generations, it is simply a legacy that can only be imagined and unable to attest. Read our full review at www.ieatandeat.com/kampoung-carrot-cake continue reading

This store was located in the Tiong Bahru market. I had walked the whole food centre and there is only 2 store selling carrot cake. Somehow I was decieved by the advertisements on the store and ordered their white carrot cake. It is super oily. I saw them beat two eggs into my plate of carrot cake, however, it was not spread properly, some part of the carrot cake was still “wet” as the egg was not cooked. There is one thing special about this store is that the size of the carrot cake was based on sizes like shirt. They had S, M, L and XL respectively. PS: Dear admin, the previous post i forget to include a pics, please help me delete it! continue reading

This carrot cake stall is recommended by a good friend of mine, so when I was around the hawker area, I decide to check it out whether it is as nice as what I have been told. Choose the black version one after some thoughts (was craving for something sweet) and it was quick to receive my order. The carrot cake used is not too soft, good for wok fried version of the carrot cake. Egg is evenly distributed on the carrot cake and the black sauce amount is just nice (not too sweet, which is good). A single portion is enough to fill you up and cure your hunger. continue reading

I love the chunks of carrot cake and the chai pok with a little bit of spiciness. The salted turnips (Chai Pok, SG slang) were in adequate portions. The stall-holder already had prepared carrot cake earlier and just heated it up and cracked an egg. I felt it was not heated up enough because when I ate it was quite cold. I love my food to be hot, you see. This plate cost $2.50 but the portion was so LITTLE it's not enough that I had to buy dough fritters from other stall. Oh well! continue reading

I usually order my carrot cake from this stall as the carrot cake are cut into big pieces unlike other stalls whereby they actually cut it into very small pieces. Their prices starts from $2.50, $3, $4. I think this carrot cake is alright but i wish there was more eggs in it as i am a huge egg lover. But other than that, it is kind of average actually. continue reading
