There wasn't much crowd in the restaurant on a weekday night despite the other restaurants having long queue so we tried this place. Ordered the carbonara and it was disappointing. Service was slow and it took about 20 minutes before it came. The sauce was too watery and there wasn't much taste at all. There wasn't much ingredients inside and it looked a little different from the picture in the menu. Ordered sashimi plate as well and the sashimi just came in with 4 small pieces. Didn't taste that fresh either.  continue reading

Kabe No Ana Restaurant has a long history of its own. It was established in 1953 and they invented the mentaiko spaghetti and is the original Japanese Spaghetti House. We have the first outlet here in Singapore which is opened by RE&S Enterprises Pte Ltd. It is under the same group with Ichiban Sushi & Ichiban Boshi but with different concept of restaurant. My sister and I decided to give it a try on of one our dinner date after work.Menu and order sheet were presented to us once we are seated. We flipped through the menu and placed our order through the order sheet. The service staff will then process our order accordingly. Serving time was approximately 15-20 minutes.Mentaiko Salmon Avocado @S$15.90Spaghetti Salmon & avocado with spicy cod roe sauce was served in a big plate which looks very appertizing. The portion was quite valuable with the price offer. Mentaiko sauce was strong and can’t really taste of the avocado in it.Hotate Mentai Cream Sauce @S$15.90Scallop and shimeji mushroom with spicy cod roe carbonara sauce was definitely a good choice of the day. The creamy sauce compliments well with the spaghetti. Smooth creamy thick sauce well absorbed into the scallops and mushroom gives a tasty taste. There is a side menu which stated Add on S$2.00 to upsize the pasta. Few options are available and we decided to go for mini salad & soup @S$2.50. The mini salad and soup was served before the spaghetti which we think it is a good start for the dinner. Total bill was S$43.20 inclusive of 10% service charges and 7% service charges. Usually we asked for bill and the service staff will come with the bill but this is not the practise in this outlet. Payment is to be made at the cashier counter. Dinner was decent with the price offer. continue reading

Invented from original Japanese Spaghetti House, Kabe no Ana means “hole in the wall” which I guessed there was some story behind. Sharing same brand with Ichiban Sushi, you can obtained the star chop for the Reward Card. Located at the corner in Nex Serangoon, it was one of the eateries hidden inside Shokutsu 10. Cozy and quiet place, tables were only partly occupied.Right dining option, the pasta was healthy. Warm lightning the shop enhanced the looking of my plate, creaminess of noodle was remarkable. Evenly mixed up with the whole, pasta was well-cooked and chewy. Sauce was light yet flavoursome, special recipe from chef. $13.90 before GST and service charge, the price was somewhat acceptable. Trust me, pasta lover will definitely fond it. continue reading

This place has rather affordable jap/western fusion food. Their set lunches are at around $12+ but choices of spaghetti are rather limited (only 3 available); set lunch comes with a drink and a dessert (chocolate ice cream which tastes like typical ice cream from a tub). The vongole spaghetti was average. I had the salmon mayo baked rice - portion was alright but might be too little for big eaters. I like how the sauce complemented the rice, not bad a choice. continue reading

I was window shopping at NEX mall and decided to eat something Japanese for dinner. After browsing around, I decided to settle down at Kabe no Ana for Japanese style pasta. Garlic Ebi with Greens - $6.90++This is very nice...prawns were fresh and crunchy..sauteed in fragrant garlic & olive oil sauce. Every garlic lover will love this.Yasai Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce - $11.90++Spaghetti was cooked al dente with refreshing tomato sauce and generous serving of fresh veggies (brinjal, zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus & onion). Nice and healthy dish! continue reading
