The Canteen located on the first floor of Shaw Centre is a small humble restaurant that serves a mix of Asian and Western food. Price is a bit steep for these common and ordinary food that can be found at every corners of Singapore. Consider the restaurant is located at Orchard, the pricing is understandable. Food was really average. Observing what the patrons ordered, it seems like the Asian cuisine were more popular.I have the Laksa which was indeed delectable. The used of fresh ingredients and the smooth but not too spicy gravy went well with the rice noodles.

I went there to find my friend for lunch as she is working around hereI ordered their mee cai mak It's really simple , a clear broth with minced pork, meat balls & a poached egg, but somehow it just hits the spot.Prices are very reasonable & the decoration of this store is simple & clean Overall i rate 8/10
