After a rather disappointing dinner at Hangoga Korean restaurant, my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to have coffee and dessert at Marina Bay Sands. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was the obvious choice, but since the queue was ridiculously long we kept looking and found Java Detour, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. First, there was no problem getting a table here. It's located on the ground floor near some boutiques, and at 9pm there was only one other occupied table. Second, they serve better coffee. Their beans are organic and roasted in small batches, so it just tastes fresher and with more rich flavor.Third, their brownie actually tasted like a brownie is supposed to, not like chocolate cake. It was ooey, gooey, chocolate overload - they even added extra chocolate sauce. Fourth, the prices were very reasonable. Two brownies and one coffee were around $12. Can't complain about those prices at MBS.Anyway, I know it's an unfamiliar brand name, but definitely worth having a coffee here instead of the usual spots. continue reading

surprisingly, this drink looks like mud, but tastes fantastic. it's some pomegranate with berries and something else mixed slushie blended ice drink thing. rather small cup and very overpriced since it is marina bay sands. but otherwise the drink was very very refreshing and very very good. not too sweet and you feel energised after drinking all that anti oxidant. good to go with their cookies or cakes. they stock mrs fields cookies and other imported snacks. continue reading

Java Detour! Enjoyed a great time of catching up over a nice cup of hazelnut ice blended coffee with my friend at Java Detour. I must admit, the coffee has a strong aroma! Each sip of the frappucino is saturated with the fragrance of hazelnut and you will just love it so much! It is also not overly sweet, just the right touch for someone who prefers not so sweet frappucino continue reading
