Hello uncle! It's been hard trying to get him before everything's sold out.And today was no different. After queueing behind 7 others, I was told that he had just one portion of beef horfun left to sell.I must have looked suitably crestfallen because he offered to make two portions of beef hor fun for us. How? If we didn't mind mixing our horfun with beehoon. Of course not! )) And he tells us it's special, he wouldn't take an order like that on a normal day.So there he sets out to stir fry the beehoon before he adds in the hor fun and eventually spoons his delicious gravy over those noodles. And this was what I got. A serving of beef horfun/beehoon with generous slices of tender beef with carrots and vegetables. The gravy was starchy but not overwhelmingly so and there were no strange lumps of cornstarch that I've been accustomed to previously and because I asked for extra gravy, he gave me basically everything of what the pot had left. With a squeeze of lime and their homemade chilli paste.ohmyyum! continue reading

A plate of beef hor fun costs only $3, though cheaper than Geylang Lor 9 and Bee Kia, comes in a reasonable and satisfactory portion. Well-fried with a distinct charred aroma, the delicious kway teow is thoroughly coated with flavorful gravy that is more salty and sweet than spicy compared with Geylang Lor 9 and Bee Kia. If you dislike the heavily tenderized beef of Geylang Lor 9, you will be delighted by 71's beef slices which are tough and tasty. The addition of fresh Xiao bai cai complements the flavor and texture of the beef hor fun very well. continue reading

Wow, I waited almost 15 minutes in line for this dish. The husband and wife duo does have very very good business when operating. The chicken rice/ char siew rice/ roasted pig stall beside seems like a complete contrast. The dish itself is nothing particularly exciting. The food is okay, I wouldn't spend $4 again for this standard. The sauce is not as tasty as suspected but the hor fun was fried well. continue reading

If you are looking towards filling your stomach fat and well, this is the store for you. The beef is very tender and there has some marination being done. Slight saltishness with sprinkles of black pepper add on to the hor fun flair. Many people order their popular fried Hokkien prawn noodle as well but I just didn't have the stomach anymore continue reading
