In Singapore, good food is defined by those stalls that have lines. It's even more of a gem, when the line IS moving, and there's still a line present. Each bowl of Yong Tau Foo is $4 and you are not able to pre-pick your ingredients. However, you can tell that the tofu and ingredients are freshly made and you can eat away heartily without worrying too much. The soup, I believe is made of the yellow beans and despite them having a snaking line, it is very considerate of the stall vendor to deliver the bowl to where you're sitting. It is probably also due to the fact that there are plenty of elderly who are also frequent the store. continue reading

Noted for its freshest and home made Dou Fu, Yong Xiang Xing Dou Fu marked the longest queue among other People's Park complex Food Centre's hawkers. It may seems boring having to queue about 20 minutes just to savour a bowl of fix selection of Yong Tau Fu with no noodles/rice or Bee Hoon and the stall is only opened at 1pm. However, when I was there yesterday, business was already in operation before 1pm with long snaking queues. At 1pm, the stall was lighted up with consistent number of patrons joining the queue, it's just never ending. But not to worry, there are 3 uncles walking about serving the pipping hot bowls of YFT to our table after we had ordered and the speed was pretty fast, within 5 minutes after ordering. The uncles are all very cheerful, wearing a smile as they served us. There's a price hike of a dollar. Each items comes in pair except for fish balls, they came in 3.If you ever doubt the queue, everything was well revealed in the hot bowl of soup! The ngoh Hiong tastes fresh with the cripsy bean curd skin wrapping up the fish paste. Yums!Cost: S$4.00The bean curd is so slippery and the small patch of minced meat on top of it tastes fresh as well. A simple yet fulfilling dish enjoyed! continue reading

Even before the stall opens for business, you can already see a queue. It opens after 1pm and closes when they sells out what they have for the day. I dabao-ed home the yong tau foo and it still tasted good. Soup was flavourful. The ingredients cannot be chosen though. So if you do not like any of the ingredients, you'd have to make do with it. It is good but I don't think I will be willing to queue up 30 minutes for this. continue reading

Die hard fan of me, my favorite store at Chinatown!! A must-try Yong Tau Foo in Singapore...With no fancy signboard or delicious picture around but then the stall pack with queues especially during lunch times...Without Noodles, just simple portions, the broth is lightly sweet tasting & of cos the ingredient quite tasty, especially their beancurd base items are really tangy and tasty... continue reading

The FoodEverytime, whenever I passed by Chinatown, suddenly will have craving for the nicest Yong Tau Foo soup with no noodles to choose from, perfect for people on diet !! This Stall serves the nicest & freshest handmade yong tau foo in Chinatown. What I like most is the fried beancurd skin. It is veri crispy on the outside and the meat inside is tender and juicy combined with the natural savoury and sweetness taste of the soup. The fishballs also fresh and bouncy. The ServiceAs I went on weekends late afternoon, the queue is super long. The stall opened at 1pm and close at 4pm. In the morning, they handmade and prepare all the ingredients hence is opened so late. One good thing is that the food was delivered to me in few minutes after I order. The AmbienceAlthough the stall is in a hawker center, i find that the place was well-ventilated and not stuffy hence still acceptableThe PriceReasonably priced at $3.50 per bowl, definitely worth the money and time !! OverallI will definitely come back again and highly recommended to try this! continue reading
