Just beside the Chwee Kueh stall at Ghim Moh Food Centre is this inconspicuous Fried Carrot Cake stall that uses vegetable oil for healthier option. The stall sells both white and black carrot cake. We had the Black Carrot Cake. The steamed radish cake was moist and soft. The carrot cake was fried to perfection with a well coated layer of black sweet sauce. There was also a generous coat of eggs to give the extra flavour and texture.

Lian He Carrot Cake stall is one store which I used to frequent last time when I was walking in the area. After so long, I was glad that the standard of the food did not drop when I tried it last month. My favourite will be the white carrot cake. The carrot cake is fried very nicely such that it is slightly crisp and there is quite a even spread of the eggs among all the cubes of the carrot cake. I always ask the uncle to add more chilli for me since I love having the carrot cake with chilli as it enhances the taste of the carrot cakes. The uncle also whips up a pretty nice black carrot cake, but my favourite lies with the white one since I can taste the eggs more distinctively.
