Signature Dishes
Fermented rice residue Mee Sua aka Hong Zao Ji Mian Xian is another rare find in hawker centers nowadays. One would probably label it as a "confinement dish" for woman to recuperate after child birth. Well, indeed it was known for its nourishing and benefits but one do not necessary have to be on confinement to enjoy such a dish. The health benefits was said to lower bad cholesterol, boosting health and strengthening body. The dish was seen in red with strong aroma of ginger and sourly taste of the wine. Chicken meat was tendered and coated with the strong fragrance of the "Hong Zao", the down side is that they uses big chunks of chicken with bone which I find myself lacking of the skills to remove the bones. Do also note that the dish is made up of alot of ginger and sesame oil which may be "heaty". Try avoiding such dish if you are having a bad throat.Service, I will rate them average. Besides ordering for myself, I had ordered another dish (they are selling ban mian, homemade noodle as well as dumplings, Guo Tie) my order was missed out. Many who came later than me had collected their dishes and I'm still standing there waiting. The helper was rather forgetful.Cost: S$3.00
