Introduction
Previously known as Baker’s Inn, Bakerzin started out in 1998 as a modest patisserie located off Sembawang Road, Singapore, dealing with wholesale orders and supplying French bread and pastries to restaurants and hotels. During this time, founder of Bakerzin, Daniel Tay, and his team of passionate bakers began experimenting and conjuring new and indulgent creations. As word spread, Bakerzin steadily gained a reputation in the industry as not just an authentic French bakery but one with an excellent selection of scrumptious sweets on its order list. continue reading

For full review & more photos - http://midas400.blogspot.sg/2013/12/new-menu-at-bakerzin.htmlBakerzin has recently revamped their entire Ala carte menu. I've gotten a 20% discount voucher to utilize it for dishes on the new menu. So I dropped by at Tampines One outlet to sample the new stuffs. They have new items such as sandwiches, wraps and burgers etc. which are previously not available in the old menu. And, they have introduced new flavors for their range of decadent desserts.New and available for a limited period only...All-in-one Meal boxes!Do note that they charge $0.30++ per glass for ice water here..Mocha $5.90++, thick and creamy cup of drink...good.Chicken Mayo sandwich $11.90++, a tad pricey but yummy with fresh and good quality ingredients used. They were generous with the chicken meat portion too.Warm Chocolate cake $11.50++, not too bad but I prefer the TCC one for a similar class restaurant. continue reading

After browsing Openrice's mooncake article, I got myself a box of the Royal Jade Collection from Bakerzin. Service at the Tampines branch was great when I went to collect. The carrier that came with it was pretty, and presentation of the mooncakes was good. This is the mung bean mooncakes collection. The one I liked most was the Purple sweet potato snowskin, the paste was very smooth. Didn't like the Green Tea Mung Bean Red Bean one although i'm a fan of green tea - the red bean paste was very hard to swallow and dry. Overall, pretty average, and i'm sure the alcohol flavours collection would be better. continue reading

The Strawberry Panna Cotta has really taken me by surprise, as it's my first time eating Panna Cotta, it tasted rich and creamy. It totally melts in my mouth, for a person that loves dairy products it's really delicious! Just the berries at the side was sour, so it blends and match well with the sweetness of the jam and panna cotta. The chocolate cake I was expecting the chocolate in the middle to melt when tear open, it really did. But I think they over-baked the cake, as it was dry and charred abit. The overall presentation was good. How they decorate the plate with the berries and desserts, it's really great! But their service needs to improve more as they were service crews who were free but did not serve us on time, and they were just looking at people who are able to afford the meals. No smiles on their faces and we had to asked to be served. The price for each is about $10++, I think is quite expensive for such desserts as the price is over rated. Though the ambience is good, but not worth it. I might consider going back again for desserts. continue reading

We were here for a quick catch-up with a friend who came back from an oversea posting. she requested for somewhere in the east, so another friend suggested Bakerzin cos she has not been there before. My choice for the night is Aglio Olio. I added additional Ham, Bacon & Mushroom for $5. Spaghetti is done al dente drizzle with olive oil but I find it not spicy enough as there is only 3 tiny un-cut chili padi Bailey’s Irish Cream Soufflé - I was slightly disappointed with my Bailey’s Irish Cream Soufflé. The souffle although soft & fluffy, it started collapsing as soon as it's being served. Not much of the taste of Bailey's also. continue reading
