Warm Chocolate cake $11.50++, not too bad but I prefer the TCC one for a similar class restaurant.

Bratwurst Linguine $16.50++
Perfectly cooked al dente linguine tossed with balsamic vinegar, garlic and chili padi, served with generous amount of bratwurst slices. I love this dish, the linguine was uber springy and the balsamic sauce was lightly sweet and spicy. The savory bratwurst sausage slices were chunky and succulent, very delish!

After browsing Openrice's mooncake article, I got myself a box of the Royal Jade Collection from Bakerzin. Service at the Tampines branch was great when I went to collect. The carrier that came with it was pretty, and presentation of the mooncakes was good. This is the mung bean mooncakes collection. The one I liked most was the Purple sweet potato snowskin, the paste was very smooth. Didn't like the Green Tea Mung Bean Red Bean one although i'm a fan of green tea - the red bean paste was very h

Overall, pretty average, and i'm sure the alcohol flavours collection would be better.

The chocolate cake I was expecting the chocolate in the middle to melt when tear open, it really did. But I think they over-baked the cake, as it was dry and charred abit.

The overall presentation was good. How they decorate the plate with the berries and desserts, it's really great!

But their service needs to improve more as they were service crews who were free but did not serve us on time, and they were just looking at people who are able to afford the meals. No smiles on their faces and we had to asked to be served.

The price for each is about $10++, I think is quite expensive for such desserts as the price is over rated. Though the ambience is good, but not worth it.
I might consider going back again for desserts.

Bailey’s Irish Cream Soufflé - I was slightly disappointed with my Bailey’s Irish Cream Soufflé. The souffle although soft & fluffy, it started collapsing as soon as it's being served. Not much of the taste of Bailey's also.

This is very nice, 4 succulent mid-sized prawns grilled to perfection. The mushroom, ham and bacon were also nicely sauteed and very fragrant. The spaghetti was cooked al dente with olive oil, garlic and chili padi - all in all tasted pretty good

My friends was pretty satisfied with her Linguini Vongole's - $16.90++ generous serving of clams, however she said the white wine sauce isn't spicy enough.

I loved the sticky chewy brownie cubes which complements the smooth chocolate ice cream and brandied cherries at the bottom - it was heavenly!

My friend's Bailey’s Irish Cream Soufflé - $11.50++. The souffle started collapsing pretty soon after it was served and my friend said that it was not fluffy enough. A failed dessert.

Coupé Cheesecake Verrine - $12.50++. My friend said the cream cheese ice cream tasted alright but became a little too cheesy after consuming 3 scoops in a row. The macaron was quite good though.

The first one on the table was Coupé Black Forest Verrine (S$12.50) which was simply their homemade ice cream with brownies and cherries. The brownies were a tad too hard and bitter for me and I find the ice cream delicious but the dish failed to wow me in general. It wasn’t worth the price I pay and I could create the dish myself at home.

Next came the Chocolate Soufflé (S$11.50) accompanied by a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream. The soufflé was soft and rich in chocolate taste, it would be a great dish but one thing was horribly wrong with that particular dish on that day. The soufflé was over baked thus leaving us with a bitter aftertaste, such a shame for the key component of the dish to be overdone. With that, the dish was also a terrible let down.

Lastly came the Warm Chocolate Cake (S$11.50) that was raved as one of the best lava cakes in Singapore. My high hopes were dashed when my spoon took a punch into the cake. In my humble opinion, I feel that a good lava cake must have the chocolate flowing out of it just like lava.

However, that’s not the case for Bakerzin’s and the cake was more like a strong chocolate cake that have warm chocolate paste in the middle. It had all the qualities of a good chocolate cake; fluffy, rich, slight bitterness, mild sweetness but it does not have the main quality of a lava cake unfortunately.

Though Bakerzin’s chocolate desserts failed to excite my taste buds, there are so many other desserts on their menu that I have yet to try and I will definitely be back soon.

Warm Waffle with Ice Cream

Waffles with homemade cream cheese ice cream and strawberry sauce. The word cream cheese stood out for me, because I love cheese.

I love everything this dessert has to offer. The waffles bore an appetizing pastry scent, that I find alluring. It is very crispy and good. The cream cheese tasted like an ice cream version of cheese cake, which is also my favourite dessert. It was really light and soft, and I really love to slather lots of cold ice cream on a chunk of warm waffle, and eat it together. Last by not least, the strawberry sauce drizzled all over serves like a sweet happy topping to the cream cheese flavour. Love this dessert so much.

Will go back to try their main courses next time!

Aglio Olio is decent, I remember the last time we tried it here it was too oily.

The Service is quite prompt.

Was wondering what to eat so decided to try Bakerzin which is more known for its cakes. We started with the pumpkin soup. It was very diluted and really small unfortunately. We then tried the otah bruschetta. Very nice with the excellent otah paste. We then went on to order the japanese beef curry rice. Unfortunately, Japanese curry is more sweet than spicy so it didn't go too well with me. The beef is not overcooked though so to be fair, I think it's decent but just not up my street.

I head over to Bakerzin for dinner the other day, ordering a salad, a soup, as well as a pasta dish. Simple yet good. Waldorf Salad ($11.50) consists of lots of fruits, such as apple, dried cranberries etc. Very light and refreshing. I like their Pumpkin soup ($6.90), rich in pumpkin flavour, smooth texture and very comforting when drinking it hot. Arrabiata linguine ($13.50) is garlicky and spicy. Appetizing flavour, and the tomato paste is very well-seasoned.

I haven’t the chance to try every single piece just yet, but I don’t think there was a single time I was disappointed by their cakes…

Strawberries are a personal favourite of mine just as they are to ZX and there are only a few things in this world that would rival a good piece of Strawberry Shortcake ($6.80). After trying out so many strawberries cakes in Singapore, I have to say there are better ones out there but I can’t deny that Bakerzin’s rendition sparked my interest in search of Japanese shortcakes. That’s a fact I can never deny. I like to think of Bakerzin’s rendition somewhat similar to the one I had at Jones.

Sweet Pleasure ($6.90) was really sweet way of naming a hazelnut praline. Think of it as having a kinder bueno that resembles like a cake. I think if you’re a hazelnut dessert fan, you will adore every bite of hazelnut fantasy.

What a sweet pleasure to spend an afternoon with my loved one over a few cakes and I wonder where will we be heading on our next afternoon tea session, just you and me like always…
