Decided to went to island creamery with my friends to have their dessert! Love the ambience thr as the walls were filled with many group pictures. I ordered their mud pie at around $5.50 and it was extremely delicious!! The mud pie is made of layers of chocolate, cookies and cream, burnt caramel ice cream with oreo cookie crumbs. It is just like an ice cream cake but is the best i had ever eaten! Highly recommended and a must try if you decided to go to island creamery continue reading

Whether you're alone or with a group of friends, Island Creamery makes a perfect hide-out with its' rather simple furniture and laid-back store concept. Greeted with the typical chalkboard of any ice-cream store, Island creamery boasts of its delicious ice-cream, with home flavours ranging from Milk Tea, pulau hiram, pineapple tart, durian and so forth. For a double scoop of $4.50, the ice-cream is extremely gentle to your pockets; especially if you're a student just looking for a place to chit-chat!I ordered Teh Tarik and traditional flavour Pure Vanilla. Teh Tarik was slightly bitter instead of being milky sweet. If you are sensitive to caffeine, this wouldn't be recommended!.Take a closer look at the ice-cream, and you can tell how it melts slightly at the edge, signifying that the ice-cream isn't too frozen or too cold for those with sensitive teeth. In a hot weather like this, everything melts within minutes, but the blasting air-con of Island Creamery defeats our torturous blazing sun.I glanced at my surroundings and was astonished at this photo-filled wall. It makes me wonder how dusty is it, and who would actually care looking at everyone's faces except the person in the picture him/herself. Oh well, what a waste of paper. It's not a great sight accompanying the simple plain furniture, i just wish they could clear the photos off soon!Love the open-concept kitchen the crew wasn't as friendly, looked really grumpy as if they had long hours on their job. i was afraid to try their different flavours because of their murderous look, its' an aura that says 'don't test my patience'.There are outdoor dining places as well. continue reading

the mudpie here is the best dessert in the whole of singapore it has thick layers of fresh ice cream topped with crunchy chocolate shell and the most delicious oreo chunks. the dessert is especially good when topped with lots of malted milk powder(milo) for extra chocolatey taste and delicious malt flavour. This huge dessert is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth continue reading

Finally someone reviewing about the ice cream cake ya! I had this while my friends celebrated my birthday for me! To read the full review, do visit: http://chiamhuiy.blogspot.sg/2013/01/island-creamery-review.htmlThis was the whole cake itself. Looks pretty plan and effortless actually haha! This time round, I can't tell you what is the name of this ice cream and the price of it, because I wasn't the one paying for it and naturally, the birthday girl doesn't know how much it is, obviously. But I can comment humbly about the ice cream cake though! First, the ice cream ought to be chocolate. It has a very strong chocolatey taste but it's not bitter nor too sweet. The cake is also sprinkled with biscuit balls coated with chocolate. The sides of the ice cream is rounded by what you see in the photo, ladyfingers (know as breadsticks used in tiramisu). So yes, it had cookie chunks in it so I thought it was nice! Not plain at all, though not very special either.Unlike certain ice cream cakes, for example that of Cold stone creamery, the ice cream cake here does not have a trace of sponge cake. It is fully filled by ice cream, and only ice cream! I am fine with both actually! The ladyfinger was horrible! It was so hard so much so that none of us finished it. If you're unaware, ladyfingers are supposed to taste sweet and crispy, but at the same time soft in the inside, something like a bread. I guess the ice cream cake has to be refrigerated which spoils the ladyfingers. We couldn't cut the cake as well because it was too hard. So we had to remove all the ladyfingers and use our mighty strength to cut the cake into slices. Alright to sum up, the island creamery at Holland V is an extremely small ice cream parlor, with very very limited seats there. You probably want to come here, grab a cup of ice cream and leave the place already. If not, you can try getting their cakes in replacement of those cliche birthday sponge cake! Hope you liked the review!Hui Yan- http://chiamhuiy.blogspot.sg continue reading

Nyx decided to try their Baked Alaska. At first, it does not really looked appealing to me. The staff told us that the outerwas meringue and after hearing that word, the 1st thing that came in my mind was SUGAR! I decided to skip that as myoption straight away. It really looked like some sort of melting mountain, dissipating quickly into Nyx's mouth. (Some part went into mine too) Underneath the meringue was strawberry ice cream, rested on a layer of plain sponge. Overall it was a simple and soothing combination. As for me, I made a bad choice and I regretted it. I tried out their apple pie with a scoop of ice cream. The flour was softand it felt soggy to me while the apple was in chunks and I disliked the 'sauceless' feel. Luckily, my Black Forest icecream was a pick-me-up and it refreshed me with sweetness sins. (Dark chocolate that was bitter with a few chunks ofcherries inside) continue reading
