Introduction
Taste a slice of Singaporean nostalgia at Killiney-Kopitiam. Once a humble coffee shop along Killiney Road, it is now one of Singapore’s best known heritage brands. Naturally, you’ll find Hainanese-style kaya toast served with soft-boiled eggs and fragrant cups of coffee or tea. But there are also delicious local dishes on the menu, including Mee Siam, Laksa and Curry Chicken. continue reading

Chance upon a Killiney kopitiam at marina square. The shop is quite small at one corner of marina square. Apart from the usual toast bread and coffee this shop sells savory food such as fried rice, fried noodles and nadir lemark etc. curious with the taste do their food I ordered fried rice with fried halibut. To my surprise, it is actually quite tasty. The fried rice is freshly fried upon my order, not those re fried and kept in a warmer. The fried halibut to my surprise have the standard of those specialized seafood restaurant. The fish is fresh and the batter used is crispy. Also remember to ask for their sambas Chilli. Excellent I ordered the set with a coffee which cost me about $8.90 although a bit pricey but it's worth the money. continue reading

Have bought the set lunch from this killiney outlet and was really glad that I have tried it. Mee Siam with a waffle plus a scoop of ice cream cost $12.30. Price is reasonable and portion is quite generous as well. Mee siam was delicious and the gravy was spicy and appetitzing. Fish cakes and boiled egg are fresh and chewy. The waffle is very frsh and crunchy and full of yhe butter fragrant. Ice cream is smooth and not too sweet. Restaurant is clean and service is friendly. continue reading

I wanted to have breakfast at the Big M but I lost my vote to the majority. Hence, we settled for breakfast at Killiney Kopitiam @ Marina Square. Each meal set comes with coffee or tea. If you wish to change your drink, there's an additional charge. Of course, ala carte menu is available.Aglio Olio was unexpectedly good. The spaghetti was cooked to the right texture and the prawns were sweet and succulent. Of course, it can't be compared to restaurant standard. But for a cafe, especially Killiney that is famous for its traditional toast, the Aglio Olio was above my expectation. (^O^)Supreme Mee Siam is supreme because of the two prawns. According to my Peranakan food expert, the gravy was good for its price. It faired well in the hitting the spots of spiciness, sweetness and sourness. You get what you paid for! Halibut Fish & Chips came with a generous portion of fries and three smaller than expected fish fillets. It was served with ketchup and (big spoonful of) tartar sauce. I like how this fish & chips was freshly fried and served hot! But there was nothing fascinating about the taste. Quite plain to be exact. Please note that this fish & chips came after a twenty-minute wait 'cos they fried this upon ordering. So, don't order this if you're rushing for time. Verdict: Hmmmm.. Good to have a change in breakfast choices every now and then.. But there's a good reason why people stick to traditions.. Maybe next time, I'll order their traditional toast instead.. Heehee~~For full review and photos, please visit:http://myfrozenreminiscence.blogspot.sg/2013/07/killiney-kopitiam-marina-square.html(^______^) continue reading

While waiting for Interview, I drop by Killiney Kopitiam to had my breakfast.Compare with Ya Kun and Toast Box, there's a big gap on their kaya toast but is still great. Their toast is always slightly crispy and soft on the inside. It is well coated with egg and fried to give it a nice aroma and entice you to dig in.They sells lots of other local dishes such as chee cheong fun, nasi lemak, lontong, mee siam, mee rebus.Overall really enjoyable experience at this place. continue reading

Because of my friend's recommendation, I decided to try the mee robus from this cafe. The environment of this cafe is cooling and spacious. THeir mee robus was suppose to be one of the best seller here, which to me I think the taste was alright only. THe peanut gravy was abit too diluted and not much taste. The noodles were chewy and portion is generous. The service staffs' here are also quite prompt in clearing the tables once you have completed your food. continue reading
