Visited there with my cousin and my sister on a random saturday night because that was one of the less crowded cafe. Initially I didn't get why ain't there a crowd but now I do because it is a food and beverage line but there was NO GOOD service from them at all. They got our orders wrongly and actually took more than 30 mins to serve the quesadillas! To be honest, the food are damn average and you can definitely find better soup at soup spoon instead of here. Portion is rather small and not filling. This has disappointed me a lot for a soup lover like me. continue reading

I visited EspresSoup before to try out their bread soups. I am not a big fan of soups but I was keen to try their soup breads as I have passed by the shop in Jurong Point frequently before it was closed previously. They look so yummy! And it was a relatively new concept to me. I ordered the Chick-A-Leekie ($9.80 + an additional $3 for the bread) and Carbonara Pasta ($8.80). I am not a heavy eater so I immediately regretted ordering so much.I was pleased with the overall presentation of the soup and pasta but I felt that being a light eater, it definitely proved too much for me. They were pretty generous with the ingredients for the soup. I remembered thinking that there seems to be an endless supply of chicken and leeks in my soup. The bread was quite lovely after soaking in the soup though when you reach the eating-the-bread part, it can get quite messy. I don’t know how most people do it.The Carbonara pasta was so-so with vegan bacon bits. (Then again, you seldom see restaurants serving good carbonara pasta.) I love that it was topped with an egg yolk. (85 marks for presentation!)Still I believe a one-time visit to this restaurant is enough since i am not a particular fan of soupy stuffs. continue reading

Heard of Star Vista at Buona Vista, a new shopping mall in the vicinity Nice environment in Espressoup! First time trying out their soup. It was superb. Clam chowder soup with toasted bread crust ( a choice given to diners to have the soup served in the bowl or bread curst)and salad. Ways for improvement: Perhaps add some chips to the dishThe soup in the bowl can be changed to chips. The clam chowder soup is very yummy! Seafood baked rice with soup. Took quite long to serve. It was very hot. Good place to dine in~~ continue reading

This is really interesting, isnt it? Soup in a bread. The first thing that came to my mind when i chanced upon this was, I MUST TRY IT! There are a great variety of soups to choose from- tomato soup, pumpkin soup, mushroom soup, etc. I had the clam chowder. To me, it pretty much taste like mushroom soup (those creamy type), except without the mushrooms. So how do you start with the eating? Drink the soup in the bread first, and you can pinch off a little part of the 'bowl' and dipped it in the soup as you eat. If you like really soggy bread, you can pour in more soup from the jar. And you must be thinking, is this for tea-time or what? No, i had this for my lunch. And trust me, it was really filling! I almost couldnt finish the bread. Overall, i think it was good to try something new once in a while! #NTUDAC continue reading

Chanced upon this restaurant at a little corner which is not very visible if we just walked the interior of the shopping mall. We were greeted by the friendly staff when entering.Saw that there was an opening special for a set meal at $9.90 that is available whole day and we ordered that. The set meal consist of Jambalaya Chicken, which is stir-fried chicken spaghetti in spicy, peppery gravy. The sauce is very unique and flavorful and they've added hot dog, baby tomatoes and some veggies as topping. The chicken wings turns out to be quite delicious too. My set meal comes with a very small bowl of mushroom soup and I love it so much that I ordered an additional soup - Seafood Galore with their signature homemade Bread, freshly made without any form of preservatives for $16.30. You can also order it without the bread for $13.80. Now, comes the interesting part, the bread is actually like a "bowl" to contain the soup in the middle. Usually we would dip the bread in soup but this time round, as I drink the soup, I can eat the bread as well. Love this concept. For my Seafood Galore, it's simply cauliflower soup base with fish cubes, clams, crab meat and corn with a hint of turmeric. Indeed a feast in this "bowl" of thick soup!! Definitely worth the price.Overall, it's a nice experience. Highly recommend to try the yummy and healthy soup that are prepared and served without Pork, Lard or MSG. continue reading
