I first visited this store during the first or second day of their opening and wasn't impressed with the disorderly crowding at the sushi selection counter, shoddy packaging, and the quality which seemed like everything was just hastily clamped together. But I thought it might be due to the rush of the opening day then, so I thought of giving this stall another try recently. Variety for the sushi seemed to be even lesser now than it did before, although they have "expanded" their catalog to include desserts like cheesecake at $3.00 for 2 slices. Despite me being a glutton for desserts, I wasn't really tempted to buy any of it.I didn't like that there were no signs identifying each sushi. Granted, some sushi are readily identifiable like the tamago but a few others, not that much. You just grab whatever and just hope you guessed correctly. I bought the tamago sushi, crab mayo sushi and another sushi which I thought was the same potato salad that I got on my first visit but it turned out to be squid or octopus instead. Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be much improvement whether with its packaging or taste. While the rice was not very sticky, it generally held firm and did not fell apart upon biting, which was good. However, the rice on one of the sushi looked yellowish and the crab mayo was kind of 'watery'. If you ask me, I personally prefer the sushi at the nearby Kuriya instead for more variety, better quality and fresher sushi, although the sushi at Kuriya are slightly more expensive. At Sushi Express, each small sushi is only selling at $0.50 each. If you aren't fussy about quality and just want a quick grab, then the price would be a drawing point. continue reading

This stall sells cheap sushi at only $0.50 each and there are quite a variety to choose from. Me and my mum bought a total of 10 sushi a box of inari and a box of inari with stuffing. Overall the taste was ok and given the price, it is considered to be value for money. For all the items we bought, it only cost us $ 11 in total and we were so full and still had a few inari left over ( we were too full) . A suggestion to the stall might be to consider packing the inari into smaller serving eg. 3 in a box instead of 6 in a box so that we can get to try different variety. continue reading

It is located at Woodlands MRT station. With many different kind of food shops around, the sushi shop definitely stands out with posters of 50 cents each for the sushi. It is also a takeaway outlet, thus make it convenient for anyone to buy sushi on the go. I bought two tamago (egg), 1 clam and 1 green veggie. The tamago sushi was egg mixed with mayonnaise. The clam sushi was great; the clams were flavorful and juicy too. I also liked the sushi rice because it is neither too soft nor too sticky, firm enough as the rice did not drop off when I bite continue reading
