Had a wonderful Lunch with my Family members at Din Tai Fung (Tai Seng. First visit at the location as did not know there were restaurants within the building. They had a basket to put your belongings. Service was nice as the waitress and Captain attended to us, even asking how was the food. Once ordered, waited for estimated 20 minutes. They served everything one shot.Price is $ 7.50. Personally I like Steamed Chicken as its a healthy choice. The sauce is not salty but feel that the meat is too little.Price is $ 9.80. I am not a fan of Jiao Zi but my Mom is. Thus we ordered this dish. Not bad though, eating with ginger and soya sauce.Price is $ 7.00. I like this dish but it says only with 1 chily, not hot. Those who are afraid of hotness, can try this dish.Price is $ 8.50. This was my Mom's favourite. The soup tastes nice. Seemsvery healthy.Price is $ 9.00. Find that this dish, on the outlook looks nice but the taste is a bit bland.Price is $ 11.50. The Fried Rice is very nice as informed by my Mom.Price is $ 8.80. I am not a fan of Xiao Long Bao but my Mom is.Price is $ 5.00 (1 pc). Tastes nice with the Red Bean!Price is $ 9.30. The skin is very crispy. Can order this as a side dish!Price is $ 4.00. This dish is good for those who likes to eat healthy! continue reading

I had lunch with my colleagues on Christmas Eve at this bread talk main branch since it is near to my working place. The place was crowded and we waited 30 minutes to get a seat as they don't accept reservation during lunch hour. We order the famous xiao long bao in different flavor and fried pork fried rice. The food are average and standard compared to other branches. Despite that, their services are good and attentive even the place was so crowded. continue reading

I've been to various DTF's branches, including the newly opened one at JEM (their ramen sucks man), and XLB is my must order. Chanced upon DTF @ Breadtalk HQ, so we decided to queue for it. Mind you, it was a 20 minutes wait - so weird for a ulu pandan place like Tai Seng, but then again, there's so many office workers there and it was the lunch hour. Here's my review, skip the mains and just order the XLBs and whatever dumplings they offer. Our mains were so disappointing, the only dishes which made us WOOOO AHHHH were XLB and this Citibank discounted item called the "Spicy Chilli Crab Dumplings". Me thinks, (and my bf thinks), the spicy chilli crab dumplings own XLBs.Sorry XLB, the spicy chilli crab dumplings were better than you, simply because their juices were so damn yummy + they look prettier than you. 10 xlb wasn't enough for us, because the mains didn't please hahaBut I honestly thought Shanghai's XLB is way better, because they had more juice BF told me "Their dan chao fan (Egg Fried Rice) is really good la", so I ordered it. Turns out, it wasn't so good leh, my bf said their standard dropped. The rice were of course different from the Thai rice I've at home, but I didn't find the dish delicious. However, the rice does look appetizing, being yellowy and eggy.... you know what I mean?Didn't finish the plate la, because it wasn't that nice. For $6+++, fry these at home man!BF ordered the Dan Dan Mian. The first mouth was so good, but subsequently I got sick of it. continue reading

Breaktalk IHQ just one MRT stop from my office, so once Friday lunch we decided to go there and venture what is interesting about this new building. It basically have all the restaurant under BreakTalk group under one roof. You can see BreakTalk & ToastBox of course, the Din Tai Fung, Ramen Play & Food Republic. There is a cute xiao long bao mascot in front of the restaurant welcoming the guest inside.Chili Crab Xiao Long Bao, 4pcs($5.78++) with the credit card discount. This is nice, you can taste the chili crab with your xiao long bao. New item on their menu.Chocolate Red Bean Paste Xiao Long Bao, 6pcs($6.90++) - Filled with chocolate and red bean with the ratio like 5:5, tasted ok but the skin of the xiao long bao is too think for the layer on top. If i eat as a whole, I feel this is failed. The rest of the food are quite standard like the chives vegetarian dumplings and stri fry spanish that we ordered, tasted good.http://rainfooddiary.blogspot.sg/2013/07/din-tai-fung-ihq.html continue reading
