Over 60 Austrian wines from more than 20 premium wineries will be featured at the bigger list of participating restaurants this year.
Testament to the versatility of Austrian wines and their pairing with food, the Austrian Wine Festival 2010 will see the participation of some of Singapore’s renowned and new restaurants, such as Les Amis, Brasserie Wolf, Esmirada, Bistro Soori, Fifty-Three, Song of India, Bodega Y Tapas, Angelo’s, The Steakhouse and Warehouse Bistro. Conrad Centennial Hotel, with its four F&B outlets (Golden Peony, Lobby Lounge, Oscar’s Sideway Terrace, has also come on board as the festival’s partner hotel. These partner restaurants and hotel will be hosting an array of Austrian wine-related activities from carrying a selection of house pours and tasting sets, to wine dinners and wine fairs.

Meet Singapore-based top Austrian chefs who will be preparing authentic Austrian cuisine to match the fine selection of Austrian wines.
Featuring a fine selection of Austrian wines and authentic Austrian cuisine prepared by a stellar cast of Singapore-based top Austrian chefs – Wolfgang Lapper (Esmirada Group of restaurants), Armin Leitgeb (Les Amis), Karl Dobler (Private Chef, Au Petit Salut Private Dining), Wolfgang Ranner (Executive Chef, Conrad Centennial Hotel) and Gottfried Schuetzenberger (Area Pastry chef, Grand Hyatt Singapore), this multi-course wine dinner will also include a charity auction of top Austrian wines led by Michael Thurner, Wine MBA and CEO of Austria’s Fine Brands. Proceeds for the auction will go to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. Well-known Austrian caricaturist, Reini Buhaha, will also specially fly in and entertain guests with his art.

Look forward to a series of highlight events by partner restaurants, such as “An Austrian Experience” wine dinner by Austrian chef Karl Dobler at Au Petit Salut Private Dining. Featuring Austrian dishes such as Venison croquette with chanterelle ragout in a light cream sauce; Homemade pork sausage and beer roasted suckling pig on sauerkraut and beer sauce, the exclusive 24-pax only dinner will be paired with specially selected wines from Austria.
To showcase that Austrian wines can go well with Asian flavours, Singaporean chef Jimmy Chok from Bistro Soori will be serving up a fusion-style tapas menu every Thursday, Friday and Saturday during the festival (for lunch only). In order to offer his customers a variety, the chef will also be changing the wine list as well as the wine dinner menu weekly.
In addition, retail wine partner Bacchus is offering a voucher for every customer who spends above S$300 on selected Austrian wines at the shop. This voucher will entitle the guest a choice of one-time corkage waiver or a complimentary tasting set of four wines at selected partner restaurants (terms and conditions apply).
