After an hour of riding the waves at Wave House Bar and Restaurant, you’re probably going to have an appetite of trucker. It’s a good thing that right after you unleash your inner sport, you can recharge and have a good meal at the restaurant. The restaurant has this welcoming ambience which can attract anyone who’s looking for a place to have a good meal. Having had the opportunity to visit this restaurant at night, I easily felt at ease as soon as I stepped inside. The dining area is quite dim with the subtle yellow lights coming from the bamboo tubes on the ceiling.

As soon as I sat down, the waiter poured me a glass of wine to calm my nerves and prepare me for what lied ahead: a number of dishes from their new menu. Before this, I was asked to pre-order two appetisers of my choice. I started the night with the Summer Cherry Tomato salad which was very fresh. Each bite was so addicting it made me crave for more. But of all good things come to an end, and I then moved on with the Baby Spinach and Warm Mushroom Salad. The mushroom was just so meaty and added a depth to the very light dish. As such, I still had a lot of space for the next few courses.

As for my mains, I was served with the Lemongrass Scented Boneless Kampong Chicken. For me, the lemongrass always blends well with the bland chicken meat. It has this minty and gingery taste which adds to the dish’s character. My second main course was fish and it was the Blackened Fillet of Salmon. I like the tenderness of the fish and the crispiness of the skin. The sidings also were quite enjoyable to eat.

As for the dessert, it was a no-brainer that I chose the Choco Lava Cake with strips of dried red chili on top. The lava didn’t really flow out from the cake as it was supposed to, but nevertheless, it still tasted chocolatey! Wave House Bar and Restaurant is a place with many offerings.
