Being a frequent visitor at Vivo City I often walked past The chicken Rice Shop. As angmokia mentioned, the decoration somehow makes you think of it as a fast food place, such as Texas Chicken and KFC. However, when I walked past it one day the poster on the set meal caught my eye so I went to take a good look at what the menu was exactly serving. I was pleasantly surprised that it in fact touts itself as being healthy (alright except the chicken rice itself) by serving chicken breast meat, tofu

I was pleasantly surprised that it in fact touts itself as being healthy (alright except the chicken rice itself) by serving chicken breast meat, tofu and veg. Just my kind of food!

We ordered the Double Delight, which cost us around $25:

Nyonya Pai Tee (Regualar)
Personal Portion of Chicken** Choice of Steamed, Roast or Soy Sauce
Prime Honey BBQ Chicken
Ipoh Bean Sprouts or Kailan (Regular)
Sai To Fish Balls (Regular) or Tofu with Oyster Sauce
Two bowls of Chicken Rice
Soup of the Day
12oz Soft Drink (Two)

In terms of taste, I liked the roast chicken breast more than the BBQ chicken. Actually the latter even tasted a little weird to me because they try to replicate the chinese char siew kind of sauce which was way too sweet for this dish. The Nyonya Pie Tee was alright only, as the shell was a little too hard for my liking. The vegetables was simple and normal but i did like the tofu though. It had some dried shrimps on top of it which made a difference to the simple dish.

Overall a nice family restaurant that has value for money meals.
