Astons is a restaurant group in Singapore that was established in 2005. The group specializes in American food and has now opened three types of restaurants; Astons Specialities, Astons Express, and Astons Steak & Salad.

A few weeks ago, Nona visited one of Astons Specialities branches at Suntec City Mall. The restaurant applies order, pay, and sit system. However, if you come with many people, it is better to find a table first before ordering at the cashier in front.
The Meals
1. Honey Bourbon Ribs (S$24.50++) with French Fries & BBQ Beans It was not the first time I visited the restaurant and this time the ribs were kind of disappointing. On the first visit, the ribs were luscious and the seasoning seeped into the meat. Fair enough to be compared with Tony Roma’s. Unfortunately, on the second visit the ribs were not as tender as they used to be and the sauce did not seeped into the meat.

2. Prime Tenderloin (S$28.50++) with Onion Rings & Baked Potato What I ordered was a medium-cooked Tenderloin but what I got was a well-done Tenderloin. Furthermore, they mistook my side dishes as French Fries and Corn. Lucky enough, the staff was willing to change the side dishes. The tenderloin was a bit hard bitten and it was not seasoned appropriately. The baked potato was even better than the meat. Piping hot and buttery. Simple but spectacular in flavor.

Beverage

1. Root beer Float (S$3.90++) Fizzy but smooth, topped with the sweetness of the ice cream. It was a well-balanced drink.

I was very taken aback by the food quality that was served. It was not what I expected. The ribs that used to be my favorite have gone. If only the restaurant improves its quality to what it used to be, I will visit the restaurant again in the future.
