KUVO, the multi-concept restaurant and bar, has updated itself with a new concept and menu. During the day, diners can savour appetising lunches and high tea, When night comes, customers can indulge in recommended tapas and cocktail pairings.
New tapas highlights that stood out included the Grilled Octopus ($16) and Atlantic Cod Meunière ($20, pictured). The former is soft, succulent and flavourful while the latter tastes refreshingly light.
For the gourmand, KUVO offers a series of recommended tapas and cocktail pairings to savour. The Wagyu & Camembert Sliders ($17) are good; the juiciness of the Japanese Wagyu Beef complements the creamy Camembert cheese.
Cocktail pairing: The Green Iceland ($21), containing KUVO's Italian Antica Fratta sparkling wine and Japanese umeshu, is nothing memorable.
Cut into the English Scotch Egg ($14) to reveal a centre of runny yolk, encased by wagyu beef and a choice of veal or tuna. Served with melted edam cheese and red wine onion au jus, this dish is rich and heavy on the palate.
Cocktail pairing: Captain B.R. ($21), an Earl Grey infused Rum with fresh lemon and soda water. This strikes us as the perfect indulgence after a hard day’s work.
KUVO Coffee Hot Wings ($14) - a signature from their previous menu – is juicy and succulent. Although the slight spiciness overwhelmed the taste of the coffee, we felt that the wings were still worth a mention.
Cocktail pairing: Brewski Yen ($21), a refreshing beer with ginger ale, lemon and Suze. One of the best pairings we've had from KUVO.Written by Rachel Wong
