We Singaporeans should already be familiar with the traditional Kueh Lapis, a rich, moist and fragrant layered cake. But how many of you have heard of Kek Lapis?
Kek Lapis is Sarawak’s traditional layered cake, which is served during special occasions and festivals such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Aidiladha, Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas. Unlike Kueh Lapis, Kek Lapis can be seen in various forms – round or square shape, filled with different colours and has interesting patterns.
This month, Siti Payung has officially brought in Sarawak’s Kek Lapis to Singapore so that Singaporeans are able to enjoy fresh Sarawak’s Kek Lapis made from highest quality halal ingredients.
Siti Payung’s Sarawak Kek Lapis is now available at Agrobazaar Malaysia (Lot 37 – 43, Sultan Gate, Singapore 198485).
