In lieu of Singapore’s 50th year of independence,Swensen’s celebrates the milestone with one exciting dish each month in the coming year, incorporating familiar local favourites. What you can expect are flavourful creations such as – Laksa Aglio Olio with King Prawns, Grilled Chicken with Spicy Satay Sauce and Beef Rendang Baked Rice - all available for the first quarter of 2015. The line up till March as follows: January 2015: Laksa Aglio Olio with King Prawns ($14.90) Back by popular demand, the classic Aglio Olio takes on a local twist with an added burst of spice and flavour with Laksa pesto and Laksa leaves. Three large king prawns poached in a court-bouillion crown the pasta dish to finish it off beautifully. February 2015: Grilled Chicken with Spicy Satay Sauce ($14.90)
Marinated and grilled, the grilled chicken is best accompanied by chef’s very own homemade satay gravy. The dish is served with a side of pineapple butter rice and fresh vegetables. March 2015: Beef Rendang Baked Rice ($13.90)
While Rendang is typically a stew, the chef decides to switch things up by using juicy slices of beef cooked medium well with the sauce prepared separately. Power packed with flavours, the Rendang sauce steals the limelight and goes perfectly with the melted cheese and egg rice. The dish is topped with some of our all-time favourite prawn crackers for a nice crunch. The SG50 menu will run for the whole year of 2015 and will be available at every Swensen’s outlet island wide.
