Iconic homegrown brand Toast Box hit a milestone this year with the opening of its 100th store worldwide in the heart of Orchard, Shaw House. Unlike the other 99 outlets, this one features a specialty bakery counter with exclusive bakery products, plus two new and easy ways to enjoy their traditional Nanyang kopi.
This includes a tempting trio of egg tarts – Golden Lava Egg Tart, Coconut Egg Tart and Mochi Egg Tart ($1.60 per piece) boasting new fillings like salted egg, fragrant shredded coconut and a chewy Taiwan-imported mochi respectively.
Love Bo Luo buns? Toast Box @ Shaw House bakes three versions of this humble product: Char Siew Bo Luo ($1.60) – our favourite, Kopi Bo Luo ($1.20) and the plain Bo Luo ($1.20).
More flavourful breads inspired by local desserts include the Sunflower Pulut Hitam ($1.20) – a wholesome pick first filled with black glutinous rice and Japanese sweet potato, then topped with six different seeds and grains – as well as Pumpkin Cheese ($1.20) and Black Sesame ($1.40).
Kopi Convenience: 2-IN-1 Kopi-O & The New Kopi Card
You can now enjoy the familiar flavours of Toast Box’s Nanyang Kopi in the comfort of your home with their 2-in-1 Kopi-O, sold in boxes of 20 sachets at $7.80 each.
Also, reserve a card slot in your wallets for their new Kopi Card. Launching on 22 Nov, this smart card allows you to redeem kopi or teh orders with a tap. Each card retails at $18.80 (inclusive of card fee) and is stored with 12 cups. Be the first 100 customers who spend a minimum of $10 at Toast Box Shaw House that day to receive a free Kopi Card.
If you miss that, don’t fret. From 22 Nov to 31 Dec 2014, you can purchase the 2-in-1 Kopi-O and Kopi Card at a special price of $22.60 (U.P. $26.60).
