For any gluttons that are keen to have hot piping quick snacks within the TIong Bahru area, Tiong Bahru Pau is the place to consider especially on its strategic location along the Outram road that is pretty much situated and set as a drive through fast food booth!

Park you car by the road side, and in less than 1 minute, you will most probably be landing your hands on their daily freshly made steam buns or snacks. An extensive range of snacks available for sale, TBP @ Outram is your solution to our Chinese fast food!

I love the char siew and lian yong pau at Tiong Bahru Pau. The paus always taste good regardless of the time you are there. Place is always crowded and has a queue, therefore you have to wait patiently. But fret not, because service staff are always fast in attending to customers' requests and clearing the crowd. You will not regret it after sinking your teeth into the tender meat. Price - around $1 plus for a pau. Steam cakes taste quite good as well - you can try that.

This has been my dad's favorite since I was little. I remember how he'd used to(and still does, but in less quantity) buy at least a dozen pieces home, consisting Char Siew Pau, Da Pau, Lian Yong Pau(lotus paste), Tau Sau Pau(red bean paste) and also other snacks such as Lo Mai Kai(steamed sticky glutinous rice w chicken), Siew Mai and their pastries like Egg Tarts and Spring Rolls, etc. Basically, I've tried everything from Tiong Bahru Pau and I love them just the same.

Earlier today, he bought home 2 da pau and 4 char siew pau in the usual white plastic bag with "Tiong Bahru Pau"'s branding. Though they were definitely better in the olden days way back but I must say they still taste great up till today. Soft and fluffy white dough with tasty fillings be it meat or sweet paste. The lian yong pau used to be my #1 favorite when I was a kid but now it's the char siew pau that has taken over. The sweet and savory bbq pork is simply irresistible.

They also have a subsidiary branch in Toa Payoh that I'd conveniently go to for a char siew pau fix after school.
