Ice Kachang ($2.50) is a national iconic dessert that is loved by many, seemingly easy to make but difficult to perfect. I've had many good and bad ice kachangs, and this can be considered to be one of the better ones. First, the corn syrup and corn kernels drizzled on the ice mountain is sweet but not diabetic, and makes the whole dessert much better than just the gula melaka syrup. Next, the red beans at the bottom were fresh and yummy. There was only one attap seed, which was a little stingy.
As a whole it's enjoyable and refreshing. The food court is quite empty at about 9pm, which makes dining comfortable. Usually Food Republic at Vivocity is super crowded and difficult to find seats during meal times.
