First i must say i ate hokkien mee for 2 days in a row but i'm glad this stall gave me something interesting to write about. Came across this stall after watching makan places lost and found. First impression was i ouldn't find the owner that was featured in the show, its probably his son that was cooking. Ingredients for the hokkien mee were prepared in small little plastic cups and varied according to the $3/$4/$5 portioning. It's self service at this hawker centre stall but i was lucky as there was no queue at all. The food was presented in a slightly nicer looking plate compared to the usual hawker standard. I was pleased to see that this hokkien mee provided all the ingredients that you can ask for, 3 layer pork, sotong, prawns, eggs. Its not as wet as Thye Hong style but he prawns are de-shelled already. The chilli is the one that surprised, its the lighter colored kind and it packs a powerful kick in it. I would say its kind of different from the usual chilli offered for hokkien mee and i must say i liked it alot. The white beehoon part also uses the thinner version. Overall a fantastic eat for a mere $3. Though they do not wear straw hats, i feel that the food quality is definitely top notch and once again thumbs up to that special spicy sambal chilli. 繼續閱讀
