As part of my effort to explore Icon Village, I found an affordable Chinese-themed shop – Old Kim Guan. Well-known of home-cooked cuisine, they really lived up their slogan: The Good Old Taste of Home Cooking. Casual-setting for the decoration, both tables and chairs were arranged neatly. Self-service basis, diners have to queue and order, then after that take our own food back to our seat.I had a mee kia, thin noodles, similar with stir-dried mee as usual. I had a mee kia, thin noodles, similar with stir-dried mee as usual. Dashes of minced pork and dried onion on top, the bowl was completely flavourful. What I wanted to emphasize was, the braised meat was fragrantly appetizing especially eating along with springy plain noodles. Slices of fish cake and pieces of lettuce were added inside, the combination was freshly delicious. Portion wise, it was generous and definitely filling for normal lunch. Price was stated on board, only $4.20 for my noodles. Would like to try their curry during next trip, my colleague highly recommended it to me.
