Not many stalls were left open on a Saturday Afternoon in Boon Lay Food Village. I dont have any idea of what to eat until I saw the Hakka Lui Cha and find it interesting.
Order the normal set of Lui Cha at cost of $3.50. The queue was quite long but the helper had taken my order not long after i queued up. This set of meal comes with nuts and vegetables. However there is a choice to add a fried chicken wing but I did not add. Healthy meal with all nuts, long beans and other varieties of vegetables in the bowl. It seems like vegetarian to me. The taste is good if you enjoy lui cha. The set comes with a bowl of soup. Some like to pour everything in the soup and eat it while I prefer my style to drink the soup separately from the bowl of rice. The soup has very strong vegetable / Greens taste with sediments in it. I believe that some of the ingredients were actually grind and mix in. The choice of rice - brown rice instead of white rice. Given the choice, I had chosen Brown rice over the white as it has more nutritional values. Service
Service is fast. Self service though!
Ambience
Noisy hawker center environment. Can see people from different walks of lives. Some Ah pek comes in a gang and "la kopi", you can see some parents bringing kids out for a lunch etc.
Price
$3.50 is the standard market pricing across the board. I find it reasonable.
Recommendations / Tips
Perhaps we can try lui cha with their fried chicken wing next time!
