I was here for a late lunch at about 4.30 pm. Some of the stalls have already closed thus left a rather limited choices. I was excited when i spotted this famous fishball noodle stall. The aunties were seated at the table right in front of stall and chit-chatting there. I approached one of them to order for a bowl of dry kway teow with extra chilli added. I pointed to a table right at the corner when asked where would i be sitting. There is a signage displayed in front of stall stating 'Add Noodle No Additional Cost' (加面不另收费). This is my first time to come across such a stall. Such an effort is definitely commendable. This is the kind of hawker stall that truly deserved our respect and support. The kway teow and soup were served to my table in less than 5 minutes. It was quite a big bowl of kway teow for just $3. It was topped with a generous serving of bean sprouts to give it the desired texture. I mixed the kway teow and beansprouts with the sauce underneath. Though extra amount of chilli was added but level of spiciness was rather well-balanced. The cooking of the kway teow was handled perfectly without compromising its texture. The taste of the soup was pretty light but further enhanced bya handful of chopped spring onion. There was a total of 5 pieces of fishballs in the soup. The handmade fishballs have got a noticeable bounciness in their texture and slightly bigger in size. It tasted fresh and delightfully tasty. This stall is the right choice for a good value meal. 繼續閱讀

The bowl of fish balls soup came with five large fish balls, the fish balls were larger than the ordinary fish balls that you will find from most of the fish ball noodle stalls. The fish balls were hand made by the owner, the texture was not as bouncy as other good fish balls but you can truly taste the generous fish meat within each fish ball, definitely not the overly starchy filled fish balls commonly found in the market. The soup was tasteful with the tinge of sweetness.Visit http://ieatandeat.com/xiang-xiang-fishball-noodle%E9%A6%99%E9%A6%99/ for more details on the noodles and sauce! 繼續閱讀

Xiang Xiang 香香 is a Fish Ball Noodles stall located at Chong Pang Food Centre in Yishun. This stall has been around for a long time and has a loyal customer base. It is very popular, expect to wait 30 minutes for your food to be served during peak hours.Fish Ball Noodles (Mee Pok Dry with Chilli). The noodles were topped with generous amount of bean sprouts, spring onions and pork lard. The chilli sauce at the bottom when mixed with the noodles was a perfect match and had me wanting for more. The noodles were well cooked; soft and springy (QQ). Coupled with the bean sprouts, it provided crunchiness to the bowl of wonderful fish ball noodles. For just $2.50, you get 5 pieces of fish ball (not forgetting the bowl of noodles). And mind you, it is not any normal pathetic small size fish balls. The fish balls here were slightly bigger than normal (elsewhere). How good is the fish ball? Well, taste is subjective. So why not let me just say this and you decide for yourself. During (every) Eve of Chinese New Year, they sell lots and lots of the fish balls (if I am right, the number of fish balls they sell is close to a couple of thousands during this period). Many customers purchase the uncooked fish balls from them and use them for their reunion steam boat and other dishes over the next few days.Another stall at Chong Pang Food Centre worth a try. http://foodiefc.blogspot.sg/2012/09/xiang-xiang-chong-pang-food-centre.html 繼續閱讀

Brought a bowl of the fishball noodle for lunch due to my craving for noodle. This bowl of fishball noodle has a simple presentation of the bean sprout sprinkle on top of the noodle and the fishball being seperated and placed together with the soup. The seasoning for the noodle is well measured, has a light taste of the vinegar and a slight spicy taste. The noodle is well cooked, soft and QQ texture and is not stick together. As for the fishball, it is pretty well made, soft and very spongy texture. The soup has a light and refreshing taste and goes well with the noodle. 繼續閱讀
