New quiet spot in the East!

Craftsmen Specialty Coffee is now open!Yes! After a temporary closure due to staff training, Craftsmen Specialty Coffee, which specializes in coffee and cakes, had a reopening just few days ago.Besides from the food options, they also have appliances for sale here.Dutch Colony Coffee Co.’s blends are used here. The Flat White ($4.50) tasted strong and firm, yet has a low acidity that everyone can enjoy.The bakes and pastries here are supplied by online bakery Fathiscakes and Bonheur Pattiserie.

 The bakes and pastries here are supplied by online bakery Fathiscakes and Bonheur Pattiserie. The Salted Caramel Popcorn ($8.90), one of the cakes baked by Fathiscakes, is firm and satisfying. The caramel taste is just right; flavourful and not too sweet. Add a pinch of salt with popcorns on every mouthful and this will became a delightful cake to have.

 The location also meant that it is a quiet respite for people to relax with a cup of coffee or to study in during the day. With its reopening, the Siglap / East Coast area has now yet another cafe to be added to its list.

Great coffee spot in Siglap!

Siglap has not really seen much cafes opening ever since the Third Wave Coffee Movement came, so it was rather pleasant to see one that had just recently opened with the construction of Siglap V complete.It was their soft opening phase, so coffee is on tip basis (yes, you pay them what you think their coffee is worth) and there is no food available. They use blends by Dutch Colony Coffee which they are affiliated with, which had a slight acidity with a chocolate ending for a sweet finish. The Fl

 It was their soft opening phase, so coffee is on tip basis (yes, you pay them what you think their coffee is worth) and there is no food available. They use blends by Dutch Colony Coffee which they are affiliated with, which had a slight acidity with a chocolate ending for a sweet finish. The Flat White (usual price: $4.50) was also creamy and milky, with quite decent latte art too. Pity the body was a little weak though.

 Given the location of Craftsmen Specialty Coffee, I guess I would not be back regularly given its two hours off from where I stay. However, this is a great spot for Siglap residents to grab their daily cuppa or to spend some time at. The coffee’s been great, and with cooked food such as sandwiches and quiches in the pipeline, I am looking forward to what Craftsmen Specialty Coffee would become in the future.
