I love Kaiseki and Omasake, but too bad it is just so so expensive. The price of the kaiseki set here is considered to be average at $100 per pax. This was our rather interesting appetizer. I am not sure what it was but the taste was really pleasant and the experience unique. Our sashimi platter was fantastic! I love the Aji which was in season! Wonderful! All very fresh! This is also another interesting dish, pretty chewy and delicious. The cheese lobster. Even my mum who doest eat cheese went home very satisfied with this dish. Finally our tasty fried riceDesserts - Yuzu sorbet! As always yuzu adds a refreshing end to the meal

Many Japanese restaurants had been sprouting around Singapore in the past couple of years. Some are run by Japanese chef and thus more expensive while others are less authentic.Dezato Desserts & Dining is helm by Chef Derick who have had more than 15 years of Japanese cuisine experience. He is formerly from Nadaman of the Shangri-la Hotel and had worked his way up from an apprentice.Dezato are actually famous for its monthly Omakase or Kaiseki cuisine. The raw seasonal ingredients are air-flown to Singapore thrice weekly from the famous Tsujiki Fish Market. Instead of rambling on how good the Omakase and Kaiseki cuisine are, I would let the following pictures do the talking ...Although you will not find out of the world Bento here, nonetheless, Dezato's Bento is still good and cheap.

The kaiseki set meal changes monthly and I was most interested in the sesame mousse (!!!) from the Hana Kaiseki ($60) menu so I ordered it ala carte. Somewhat like the soybean milk-sesame mousse from Nadaman, this was just as smooth and had a more intense sesame flavour.Lots of bento sets are available. I picked the Unagi & Ebi Furai Set ($16.90) cuz I wanted eeeeeeeeeel~ I’ve said it before, I’ve got a low standard for grilled eel so it’s usually delicious to me. This came with deep fried breaded shrimp (tasted suspiciously like frozen food), chawanmushi, salmon rice, pickles and miso soup.Ironically, I didn’t get desserts even though Dezato is a dessert bar cuz the savoury ain’t encouraging enough to tempt me to stay for the sweets…
