*Pris and I passed by Durian Mpire, gaped at their cute durian cakes and mousse, and decided to continue our catching up here. They sell a wide variety of durian cakes, mousse, pies, puffs etc, in many different kinds of shapes and sizes. So we snagged a table and ordered some items to share.First there was the Durian Mousse (SGD$4.30) which came in a really adorable shape of a half of an opened durian. The green shell and yellow flesh were cleverly sculptured, every line so fine. The mousse was luxuriantly aromatic with durian's distinctive flavor, and creamy smooth. Then we tried the Super Punkhead Cake (SGD$5.00) - I had chosen this simply purely because of its really cute looks. The cream was made into spikes, making the entire creation look so mean - but the spongy soft cake tasting deliciously of durian's sweetness was gentle on the palate.Next in line was the Durian Coil (SGD$5.00), a golden yellow coating that tasted like crepe skin. The interior was a roll of soft durian cake, fluffy soft and every mouthful was like a durian dream. For full review and more photographs, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/01/desserts-at-durian-mpire-jurong-point.html 繼續閱讀

1) Durian cheesecake $4.30: This was something that I never tried before. To me, it tasted  average. This cheesecake had a very distinctive taste of durian while the cheese flavour on the other hand tasted more subtle. 2) Durian empire drink $3.80: The durian taste was quite strong but I felt that it would be better to share this as it may get "gelat" for one person to finish. Overall, worth a try.  繼續閱讀

After having passing by Durian Mpire at least thrice a week, I had finally actualized the thought of consuming them!A customer before me had actually purchased a box of this (comes in 2). It looked quite different to me and out of curiosity I had checked with the staff and they called it the Durian Coil. Cost: S$5.00 eachQuite special I thought and since, it comes 2 in a box, I had ordered a box of them.Durian Coil was made up of 3 layers with D24 Durians covering up the exterior portion (most yellowish portion of the coil) and in the middle with a Durian Flavour Sponge cake and then the durian puree in its core. A good 3 layers combination is rich and pleasing for a night! These durian pastry puffs are the mini versions and it comes in 2. Most of the puff comes in a box of 6 and it is seldom that I come across a pair for sale, thus I decided to have chosen a smaller quantity to try out.The puffs are good but there are better ones out there. The creamy fillings are abit watery and it will be even better to have it cooler, I felt.Cost: S$2.40 for 2 繼續閱讀

Craving for durian and cakes, especially whenever it’s the durian season. The pungent rich sweet smell of the durian puffs never fails to arouse my senses. The crusty choux pastry is fluffy and buttery. With durian cream as its stuffing, authentic “durian-hair-fibres” can be found giving the assurance that only real “durian-flesh” is being used. Generous sweet and creamy filling filled to the brim, making every bite and every puff worth its money. 繼續閱讀

My first time in my whole life trying a durian pudding! It did't taste any special! LOL! It just tasted like the liu lian gao from Malaysia that we usually bring back after the trip, just that the colour is different and was mound into another shape. There is also an eggy after note which is not very nice. I prefer the durian mousse cake that my friend ordered. Is slightly more expensive; my pudding costs $3.20 and my friend mousse cake costs $4.30. But it is make 100% with durian and is so sweet and tasty. One thing i disliked is the cream on top of the cake,it makes my friends' tongue turned green, just like our childhood's monster sweet! 繼續閱讀
