Eighteen Chefs was started by Chef Benny Se Teo. My first encounter with Chef Benny was when he was still working in Goshen at the halfway house (which has been closed down). Even having been trained in Jamie Oliver's restaurant "Fifteen", his passion for giving second chances to ex-offenders was not doused out. In fact, he was more "on-fire" when he came back to Singapore still giving ex-offenders a chance in life.This is more of a self-service restaurants. The friendly crew will bring you to your seat and then you write your order on the order chit. To confirm orders, simply make payment at the cashier and your orders will be served to you. Ice water, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, mustard, chilli flakes, cheese flakes, cutlery, napkins are all self-service.This is a dish where aglio olio comes with grilled chicken topped with mushroom sauce. I love the juicy chicken. Quite disappointed with the aglio olio because it wasn't spicy like what I had in other restaurants. It wasn't the right taste even after I added chilli flakes. However, I have to say that the salad was fresh! ($12.80)My partner ordered the Fish and Chips coz she wanted to try out the taste of what root beer battered fish and chips taste like. We didn't taste any root beer at all. The batter was crispy and the fish meat didn't have the fishy taste. Quite enjoy it. ($13.80)Added $3.80 for the soup, garlic bread and homemade ice lemon tea. The soup is really creamy. It's just like Campbell soup without adding water. The ice lemon tea is too sweet for our taste so we added ice water into it. passed by this store and was attracted by the dish call rootbeer patter fish or something so ordered it to try. I would say it did not taste very much different from the normal fish & chip and as the name suggest, the root beer taste only from the patter so the fish was some what blend. the soup and the side dish was also just average…查看更多

This is recommended by the chef,so i ordered it.It is served with prawns,mussels and calamari tossed in olive oil and garlic.It is quite nice as the fragrance of the garlic is nice.But the seafood is not very fresh,there are some disgusting taste there.I added lots of pepper so that can removed that taste.The icecream is just normal,choco and vanilla flavour.I more prefer the vanilla flavour one.The icecream is quite smooth and soft.The strawberry is also not very fresh.So i not really like it.…查看更多

Eighteen Chefs used to be a popular hangout for my friends and I when we were back in Secondary School.We just couldn't get enough of the baked rice!To reminisce those days, my friends and I met up at Eighteen Chefs for dinner on Friday night.As always, I stuck to ordering their baked rice.I ordered the student meal which comprises 1 Cheese Baked Rice/Pasta, 1 Iced Lemon Tea and 1 Ice Cream.At $6.40, that makes a very affordable yet extremely filling meal!The student meal only has 4 options for the main ingredient in the baked rice; Chicken Sausage, Mushrooms, Baked Beans or Scrambled Eggs.I chose Chicken Sausage and for the sauce, I chose Black Pepper out of the total 8 choices of sauces they have.Also, I added Chicken Slices which cost an additional $3.50 but comes with 1 additional free ingredient of the same or lower cost. So for the third ingredient, I chose scrambled eggs.From what I recall from my secondary school days, the portion of the baked rice is exactly the same!The amount of cheese and meat served is generous and it is perfect for all those CHEESE lovers out there!!However in terms of quality and taste, it is definitely not as delicious as back then but still of a high enough standard.As always, it was a struggle to finish the baked rice.Once you're about halfway through the baked rice, you tend to feel really really full but since it's really cheesy and yummy, it's rather difficult to resist finishing it! Once I was done with the baked rice, I couldn't imagine eating anything for the next few hours.I had completely forgotten about the ice cream that was to be served!But as a saying goes "there's always another stomach for desserts" and I hold true to that!I was served a scoop of chocolate ice cream, which although was rather normal, was exactly what I needed after eating so much cheese and meat! It was my first ever visit to eighteen chefs. My friend brought me there knowing that I love eating baked cheesy western food. At this place, you can actually create your own pasta or baked rice. they have this diy section on the menu. I picked the bolognese pasta as my pasta base. I selected the tomato sauce, for my main ingredient, I selected meatballs. it turned out super delicious. They were very generous with their meatballs. When my colleague and I were at Tiong Bahru Plaza, I thought it was a rather good value after mulling over which restaurant to go, decided to stop by for dinner.We had a dinner session around 7.04 p.m. on 04 October 2011.The restaurant seemed pretty decent from the outside and they seemed to offer customised dishes.A simple open air concept, this is one popular place among the young people having group gathering due to its good value price point on western food.She ordered Spring Chicken and Combo C (including Ice Lemon Tea). The above pictures were all for my simple dinner at Eighteen Chefs. This DIY Spaghetti allows customers to choose their own type of spaghetti, sauce as well as toppings to go with it. I chose sausages for my toppings and spicy creamy sauce. If you are a fan of spicy food, ordering spicy creamy sauce would be suitable for you. The spaghetti was soft and tasty, which was different from other spaghetti I have eaten before which was abit hard. The creamy sauce was delicious without having the creamy taste too overpowering. Do not feel intimidated by it as Eighteen Chefs is a restaurant founded by Chef Benny who wish to share his life experience with youth ex-convicts. If you have been to Eighteen Chefs, you will realize that they do not have waiters or waitress to take your orders. This is because, the ordering process is all manually done by yourself but the good news is that there isn’t any service charge.I ordered a 9 Inch Turkey Hotdog Set ($7.50) which looks really good, classic and simple. Well, a classic will never go wrong right? The Turkey sausage was very flavorful in between the hotdog bun which is slightly fried to give it a light crisp and taste. Smothered with a generous amount of teriyaki sauce, it gave new meaning to the western hotdog bun which is usually tomato and mustard sauce. Well, it added a new twist in it and it was great.The salad was very fresh too and I love the crunchiness of the tomatoes and bell pepper. They have my favourite type of french fries too!!
