This is a reasonably priced restaurant to have tonkatsu Most of their items are around $10++ if you want to order black pig will need to top up a few dollars more. The seats are like those food court seats. I ordered the Katsura with curry and rice . The pork cutlet is fried till golden brown and crispy but I find the meat cut too thin and t is a bit dry. Luckily I ordered curry which can help to soften the crust by dipping the cutlet in it. The rice they use are those long grain Japanese rice not the short grain ones. Currently at Jcube's Ginza Barin branch, there was a $10 nett promotion for several of the dishes. The $10 nett price included a cup of green tea and a bowl of miso soup. The staff was friendly and recommended their Don menu but I had decided to try their ramen and ordered Tonkotsu Ramen. I was a little disappointed when the order was delivered to my table. There was only a piece of char siew. The soup of the Tonkotsu Ramen was a little light as compared to many other ramen restaurant. There was green vegetables and black fungus in the soup. I would prefer they gave bean spourt and chopped spring onions instead.The egg was braised and the yolk was watery, it tasted good. The char siew tasted more of braised than grilled and was fatty at the sides. The noodles was normal ramen, slightly springy.Overall, I guess I would be ordering their Don instead of Ramen the next time I dine there.…查看更多

My colleagues drove us to Jcube to have lunch that day. Perks of driving out to have lunch, we get to eat food from everywhere! One of my colleagues, J recommended to head over to Ginza Bairin, a Japanese restaurant to have our meal there. Being Jap food lovers, we all agreed and head over. I decided to have noodles that day so I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen :)It costs $12.90 which is stll quite an affordable price.I really love this dish, the soup base was nice but if you drink too much of it, it’ll tend to be a tad too salty afterwards.I love the Cha Shu, they must have used good quality pork as there wasn’t much fats to it.Cha Shu with too much fats really scares me!It was a relatively delicious and healthy dish as there’s green veggies and black fungus too.I can’t wait for the next visit to try out other dishes! …查看更多

The Ginza Bairin is a good place for restaurant food that is selling at reasonable nett price of no service charge. I ordered a Pork Katsu Donburi($12.90) for the take away. For the take away, the miso soup will not be given.The fried pork katsu is soaked in a brown sauce and topped with a runny egg.The pork katsu is tender and the breadcrumbs coated on the outside is fluffy as it absorbed the brown sauce.The amount of rice given is sufficient and this make a hearty dinner meal.…查看更多

Ginza Bairin is famed for its pork katsu. I wasn't really feeling in the mood for pork so i opted for chicken instead. This is the Chicken Katsu Curry ($11.00). It comes with a deep-fried breaded chicken served in Japanese curry.The chicken was soft and juicy and the batter was crispy and crunchy to a T. I especially liked the pickles by the side that added a certain kick to the overall flavour. This portion was just right for 1 person. The item also comes with a miso soup that contains what looks like shredded tau pok. A good choice for lunch or dinner! There is also a delivery option on gourmettogo.com.sg for ginza bairin.
