Hong Kong Dim Sum offers a range of maybe only 8 different dim sum offerings, but each are reasonably priced at $2.50 and these include favourites such as siew mai, har gow, congee and chee cheong fun! What perhaps draws people to this stall is that the dim sum is freshly steamed for you upon ordering so its served piping hot!We ordered Har gow, Siew Mai, (shrimp) Chee Cheong Fun and Pork Ribs, each at $2.50.The Har Gow has a translucent skin with supple, fresh shrimp. While we did enjoy the filling, we would have preferred the skin to be a bit less sticky. The flouriness also became apparent when the har gow cooled. Nevertheless, it is worth a try given that it's only $2.50 The Siew Mai is really piping hot and you can't eat this in one bite (challenge accepted?) The size the siewmai here is significantly larger than other places and the meat is really tasty! It was a bit salty though, but we wouldn't deny that the size + flavour were all there. If you like your food light and refreshing -this might not be so ideal for you. Go for har gow seconds instead! The Chee Cheong Fun has shrimp in it and it's really fresh and supple, however the chee cheong fun was slightly flourry and the skin wasn't very smooth. it doesn't have the silky quality that shimmies between your lips when you slurp it up I'm very picky with ccf though, so if you're not too particular with it this should do the trick. The pork rib wasn't exactly fresh and there were tiny bone bits inside. While the taste was good -you can taste the sesame oil and the savouriness of the soy sauce etc, the texture of the meat ruined it for me. I don't deny that it tasted nice though. Just would have preferred tender meat without small bones inside!P.S. The food here is a bit salty by my standards and the skin of the hargow/ccf isn't too smooth. For the price though it is pretty worth it as the portions are substantial -try the siewmai! They are huge, tasty and juicy 繼續閱讀

These crunchy balls really are so delicious that I have been revisiting this stall for almost thwice or even more times in per month. The outer crust is very crunchy and is not too oily. The white sesame seeds which are surrounded on the crust are very fragrant and crispy too after the deep fry. Love those crunchy peanut diced in it which is full of the roasted fragrant from it and goes very well with the crunchy dough. Less than a dollar per piece, I think this is really affordable. 繼續閱讀

The prawn chee cheong fun is certainly a good breakfast to have. The chee cheong fun is smooth and tender. Importantly, it is not very thick too. Thus, one does not get sick of it. Together with the fresh prawn and sweet soya sauce, it is a delicious dish as the chee cheong fun itself is tasteless actually. Additionally, there is also sesame seed and sesame oil. 繼續閱讀

I often patronised this stall at Redhill Food Centre on weekends for a cheap fix of delicious dim sum! It is opened by the parents of a friend of mine, so I do enjoy special discounts haha. I love the porridge which is cooked to absolute smooth consistency!! It is topped with crispy stuffs which I don't really know what this is. I am also a fan of chicken legs! (cos' I heard they are rich in collagen! Good for skin!) Who's with me? The best thing of all is that all the dim sum are handmade so you can imagine how fresh and delectable each simple dish is. The rendition of chee cheong fun for this stall comes in a very thin and smooth texture, and when tasted with the filling of small bits of char siew plus the gravy, the marriage is lovely! One of my favourites as well! I think there is the prawn filling one as well. In any case, do not miss out ordering the chee cheong fun! Of course in any dim sum meal, how can we miss out har gao? I'm not a big fan of it, but the prawns are very fresh! It is a joy to enjoy a table of dim sum with a group of friends! A pity they don't have egg tarts haha. And the parents whipped up this 'special' dish for one of the times I was there! Very crunchy and succulent when dipped into the mayo sauce! I can't remember what it is called, but if you happened to be there, do try your luck! There are of course other dishes on the menu, so you can get to enjoy a variety of dim sum at this stall tucked in the food centre! Let me know if you enjoy the dim sum there as much as I do! 繼續閱讀
