Pocket-friendly Sushi

This place has become a regular dine-out for my family and I for the simple reason that of all the casual Japanese diners that we have come across, this scores the best in terms of food quality and price. This place has become a regular dine-out for my family and I for the simple reason that of all the casual Japanese diners that we have come across, this scores the best in terms of food quality and price. Plus, I just adore sitting by the conveyor belt and watching plate after plate of delectable sushi parade past me. I mean, who could sit and watch food and NOT be happy, right

Some of our regular orders are the Agedashi Tofu, Swordfish Sashimi and Grilled Mackerel. The Grilled Mackerel never fails to hit the spot with its crispy skin and flavourful flesh. Remember to give a light squeeze of lemon over the top to further enhance the freshly-grilled aroma, and down it with a pinch of chopped daikon (white radish), yum! I have recently taken a novel liking for Scallop Sashimi but every time I try to order that, the waiter informs us that it is unavailable, which is starting to annoy me a bit.
Maybe its time to start scouting for a place that actually sells what is written on the menu, but till then, we'll still be satisfying our sushi cravings here.

monster ramen (very huge in portion)the char siew is nice, tender and flavourful. The ramen is chewy and nice to eat, and i like the soup broth a lot. This bowl of ramen can actually be shared by two persons coz it's protion is large.salmon don (with the fish roe)The salmon slices given is generous in portion. quita bland in taste though.

As usual the service is not good. There is no waiter or waitress welcoming us as customers. They are just busy with their own job. Even the manager himself did not know what he was doing. He was ignoring our call when we wanted to order.However, it was paid due to the delicious and yummy hotate mushroom set meal and also salmon teriyaki dull set meal that comes with miso soup, watermelon, chawanmushi, and also appetizer, but I think it is not quite worth the money as one set meal cost me about $

Meal at novena ichiban boshi

This meal (upper half of the picture) that i ordered cost 18.90 dollars according to the menu. Overall, i felt that the price was not bad for a meal like this. It has a plate of 4 slice of salmon and shabu shabu beef. The soup was a bit salty thus it wasnt really appetizing for me to drink finish.The another meal that my friend ordered(lower half of the picture) cost 18.90 dollars as well. It includes a plate of 4 slices of salmon. It has 2 soft shell crabs and a chicken cutlet.Overall, we felt

Overall, we felt that the meal was not bad considering the price of the meal.

The service was good. We were initially seated near the counter with high seats due to availability of the restaurant during dinner time at a weekend. We then sounded to the waitress that we wanted to seat at a normal table as the food that we ordered are quite many. They guided us to new seats despite the crowd outside.

Ichiban Boshi is a budget Japanese dining restaurant, and it’s really crowded at most of its outlets with the variety of food and cheap prices. I feel it’s overhyped and the food does not justify these rave. I ordered the fried chicken with cheese plate and a bowl of rice. The chicken was salty and I feel the quality of the food is not justifiable. It costs around $10 for both the chicken and rice. The meal was overall average.
