Dinner time we were in the siglap area and thought of eating something different for a change. so Thai food came to mind while we were running some banking errands between UOB / POSB. There's a small cash only carpark right outside.Lemon Grass has been around for more than 10 years, always passed by but never dropped by. No better time than now, the first impression upon stepping in was, "dark / outdated". But there were quite a crowd finished eating and chit chatting. Seated by the friendly staff , we ordered a unique lime + rose syrup carbonated drink to try it out. it was very appetizing and refreshing. They served the prawn crackers as appetizer, it was alright, not stale / "lau hong" or anything. The tom yum goong , was very very spicy but weirdly enough , it opened my sense of taste for more food and paired off well with the fragrant fluffy thai jasmine rice which they served free flow topup upon 1st cost.the prawns inside the tom yum soup was very fresh. not that the portion was little but makes you really wish you had more (without paying more of course)Then next dish, Thai fish cake, don't question how good it tastes, because your next question is where did they get that fancy plate? The sweet basil minced chicken with brinjal had a strong fragrance and the sauce was very thick and palatable, I had it spread all over my rice. The lemongrass/shallot chicken was the next hit as you can hear it sizzling as it approaches. The bubbling sauces was screaming "EAT MEEEEE" , wish granted.Overall it was a really pleasant dining experience. costs wise I didn't take note how much it was but the price to portion and taste ratio is worth it. 繼續閱讀

I was so delighted when one of my friends told me that this Thai restaurant has their own vegetarian section on the menu. It is extremely hard to get authentic Thai vegetarian food and I was more then happy to try this place out. Where did they get their name from? The food of course. Almost every dish contains lemongrass which not only smells good but gives the food so much of flavor.First off, we started with Tom Yam Clear Soup. A small serving would be sufficient for two. This soup came in a clay pot for customers to ensure that the soup would be kept warm. It came in small, medium or large portions and is priced accordingly. It also comes with a variety of vegetables such as carrots, mushrooms, corn among others. It's extremely spicy hence not for the faint hearted ;) But I do assure you, its excellent and perfect to clear one's throat as its made of natural ingredients. Perfect starter for those who love spicy food 9/10Tofu with DipSecondly we tried the tofu with dip. Kinda like the chinese version of tauhu goreng but this one was pretty mild. It came with peanut sauce and beansprouts. However, it tasted pretty normal to me and may not be worth ordering 6.5/10Thai Kailan with Shitake MushroomsThis dish is perfect for the health conscious. Tasty leafy greens that are well cooked with slices of chewy mushrooms. Who says healthy food tastes blunt? The veggies were well cooked and contained a lot of flavor. The dish was well prepared and contained the restaurant's own seasoning 8.5/10Red Curry BeancurdIf you're vegetarian and have missed out on authentic red curry beancurd, this is the place for you. It's extremely spicy with a good variety of vegetables, lemongrass and bean curd. It tasted rich yet not overpowering. 8/10Vegetable Fried RiceAs a main course, vegetable fried rice is a must-try. I love how the rice is so fragrant yet its not sticky like so many places i have been to. It has flavor of its own without even the need for soya sauce. This is one of my favorite comfort foods and I would definitely order this dish again! 9/10I must say the plate of fried rice and tom yam clean soup blew me away. It's worth every penny and its an amazing place to visit to chase your blew's away Staff were very welcoming when we first stepped in. They were dressed in thai outfits and were very customer service oriented. They never failed to top up customer's glasses of water without being asked. They were also very attentive which added on to the experience. The place is usually not crowded during the weekdays and only a few tables are occupied hence reservations may not be required. I have heard that its packed during weekends though! 繼續閱讀
